I think you already understand the picture I'm trying to paint. ??
It is what I experienced and, I bet, this particular experience could change any marketer's game.
When starting out, like most newcomers, the number of strategies available was quite mind-boggling.
One of the strategies that could not go unnoticed was solo ads. For those in the dark, solo ads are a type of email marketing in which you pay someone who has a considerable list of relevant niches to send an advertisement of your offer to their subscribers.
It seems that easy, yet I would say investing in it raises a question. Here is my adventure.
?? The Start of My Solo Ads Journey
Spoiler alert, solo ads are dear to my heart. I remember this in the year 2019 when I had just decided to leave my job and concentrate on hustling(online) on a voluntary basis. I had experienced some level of success with blogging and affiliate driven websites but this was Bs! I kept hearing people go gaga over solo ads in all those regular affiliate marketing groups about how the heavens had smiled upon them, So I was like, let’s do it So in that case, what is the worst that will happen?
So I did the normal thing, looked up the vendor for solo ads, with good reviews, and spent one hundred dollars. It was exhilarating — spending on traffic that I had no control over was quite a gamble.
?? The First Sale: The Ultimate Game-Changer
I was floored because I managed to grab my first affiliate sale in the first 24 hrs! ??
As a result of that $100 (200 clicks), I managed to get a $8 sale. Ok, not much of a profit. But it was a proof of concept.
Solo ads work! And this was not the only sale that I accumulated either; I also got 124 new email list subscribers, which is more possibilities for getting more sales in the future.
?? What Solo Ads Has Taught Me
Thankfully as I was excited over the sale there were a few things that I took home from that experience that I begun improving how I do things moving forward:
Not All Solo Ad Vendors Are the Same:
Since you have to pay for email addresses when it comes to solo ads, as the rule of law applies, not all of them will yield the same results. Some lists may be full of unresponsive or fraudulent leads.
Make sure to evaluate any solo ad vendor who you intend to use through reviews or anyone who has used them if you can. I was fortunate to have procured such a vendor when I was just starting.
Don’t Ignore Everything Else About Marketing:
While they’re a great way to get initial traffic and sales, solo ads can be expensive in the long run.
It’s great that we are able to generate some income, looking at the bigger picture, it’s very useful to have other sources of traffic and not depend solely on the paid ads.
Cultivate Your List of Leads:
A common misconception regarding solo ads is that the only outcome worth taking into consideration and receiving is sales and profits.
The first 50 subscribers that I got were the first step in my email marketing.
I realized pretty fast that sending something valuable to these leads was crucial in making them buy from you again.
Start Small, Scale Later:
If you are a beginner to solo ads, I propose starting with a lower budget.
Go ahead and splash some money and see if the traffic converts and then think about scaling.
Too many people jump in at the deep end and spend large sums for the campaign without testing anything and this is usually very costly.
?? My Advice for New Affiliate Marketers
For individuals who have just recently gotten involved in affiliate marketing and want to run solo ads, here what I can say: Do it and do it, but tactfully.
Solo ads are an excellent avenue to build a brand and make a first sale however; there is always a danger in putting all the resources in solo ads.
Dedicating time and energy into creating a proper email sequence and showing good content to potential subscribers – that is where all the fun is!
The fundamentals that determine the achievement of an individual involved in affiliate marketing appear to be focused on enduring, determined action and acquiring more knowledge daily.
I cherish that one solo ad campaign because it did help me realize that making money from the internet is possible and achievable.
And let me tell you a thing, if I am able to do it you will also be able to do it.
I expect this aids those of you who are indecisive about attempting solo ads. If you have experienced any solo ads or if you have any questions, put them in the comments!
