How solar road studs work and the classification of it

Solar road stud(solar road marker),set along the road surface and used at night or in rainy or foggy weather to indicate the direction of the road. It is a visual induction facility composed of reverse reflection material, shell, solar panel, LED and control device, which has active luminous and passive reflective properties. It is usually used in combination with marking line.

During the day, solar panels absorb sunlight and convert it into electricity.Stored in an energy storage device (battery or capacitor), at night, the electrical energy in the energy storage device is automatically converted into light energy (controlled by photoelectric switch), and bright light is emitted by LED to outline the road and induce the driver's vision.

Solar powered road stud can be divided into embedded and raised according to the installation position.

The former is generally used in the center line, and the latter is generally used in the edge line. This is because the solar ball studs installed in the center line have a particularly high pressure-resistance performance. In order to solve this problem, the solar road studs have to be buried in the ground, and only about 5 mm of the ground is exposed.The solar cat eyes used in the edge line is not particularly high in pressure resistance performance, and the protruding ground can still work effectively.

Solar road stud can be divided into capacitance and battery type according to different energy storage components. The service life of the former can reach five to seven years, and the service life of the latter generally ranges from one to three years.

Because buried solar road stud are very damaging to the road surface, and the cost of capacitance solar road stud is too high, the most widely used is the raised battery solar road stud.
