In the mid-1900s

A Dutch Airline decided to change its advertising agencies…

As a result, they invited a bunch of advertisers to come and give them a speculative campaign on their first tour inspection.

One of the agencies that were invited said they didn't prepare anything.?

Instead, they would like the airline to tell them about their problems.?

Then the airline should proceed with the other advertising agencies on their list.

All the other agencies have prepared a speculative campaign for the airline.?

But this one advertising company told them, "If you like any of the other agency's results, then that would be a great choice for you; if you don't like them, then come back and hire us. We will then embark on the research which will always precede the preparation of advertisements of our agency."

After two weeks of conducting this procedure, Dutch Airlines called the company that didn't make a presentation and hired them.

Guess what company was that?

"Ogilvy, Benson 8: and Matther" owned by one of the fathers of direct response advertising.

How was he able to win the heart of his client?

Simple.

He did that by communicating to them that he was not just after their money but rather their company's growth.

This is the place a lot of people get it wrong these days.

They don't seek to know what their prospective client is passing through or what their ideal customer is facing.

They just come up with a campaign and expect it to be a winning campaign.

Well, if you don't conduct adequate research.?

You would always lose your money on ads.

Here is the food for thought today.

Seek a proper understanding of your prospect and client's problem first before trying to do anything for them.

It would increase your chances of getting more results than anything else.
