How a simple comment changed my day at AWS DC Summit

Ever since I joined N2WS , I’ve been spending more and more time in the US since a big part of the team is situated there. In the spirit of the 4th of July, I decided to share a personal experience from last week that really inspired me.

I arrived at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) DC Summit early in the morning to set up our booth (after missing my flight the day before due to a 2.5-hour delay in customs). We had so many boxes of swag that we didn’t have enough space to store them. We tried to rent another cabinet from the vendor, but they wouldn’t rent one to us. So, Brigette McDonald went to Target to get some shelving, which we later gifted to one of the attendees.

But the whole experience left me feeling a bit down that first morning.

Then, as soon as the doors opened, something amazing happened. A guy came over to our booth and looked around. His badge was flipped, so we couldn’t see his name or company, and he said, “You know, you’re the best software vendor that we use on our team. I love N2WS .”

That one comment changed everything for me and the team. Throughout the day, we heard similar sentiments from many customers. Meeting them, hearing their stories, and helping them use the product better is everything for us.
