3 CV hacks nobody told you about
?
Yes, you don’t always have a lot of space in your CV to explain each job you did in detail but try to write 2-3 succinct bullet points under each job title.
1) Successful outcomes instead of descriptions
With each bullet point, you can show your key successes instead of just being descriptive. For example, ‘aligned different stakeholders to successfully implement project for 100 clients’ instead of ‘organized meetings’). Of course, it needs to be true, but often people assume that the person reading your CV will know. Let me tell you, they don’t know and often don’t have the time to think it through unless you explain it to them briefly.
·??????What were 3 key elements of your job that are also relevant for new applications? Someone reading your CV should immediately get an idea how what you did in a previous job could be useful in your new job.
·??????How did you do it? With what key skills?

·??????Which led to which outcomes? What difference did it make for the project, team, client, organizations? Do you have any numbers or concrete outcomes you can list?
2) Shorten, shorten, shorten
·??????Which words are ‘fillers’ and can be deleted?
·??????Do you have any ‘softeners’ that need to be changed? Do you use words such as ‘sometimes’ ‘partly’, ‘a little’? Also watch out for these during interviews, they slip in because we don’t want to come across as bragging, but actually they take away self-confidence.
3) Sharing is caring
You can do this exercise with a friend as it is often easier to find answers with or for another person. So have a look at your friends CV, ask them the above questions and then try to write a new version for each other.
Best of luck for your next application!?
