How to Showcase Compliance to New Employees in 5 Steps

Are you looking for help providing comprehensive compliance training to new employees? Here are five steps to effectively showcase the importance of compliance within your company.

1.??????????Learning compliance doesn't have to be a boring matter. Let's get creative and show the importance of it within your company! How about arranging a session with top managers so that newbies feels comfortable enough to ask all their questions? You could also put together an interactive quiz, allowing them to test themselves on frequently asked questions about compliance. Don't test them on paper, combine this quiz with the tour through the office or your production facilities. Taking it one step further, invite the newcomers to work alongside you for a day on compliance projects – they'll see true examples of how it works first-hand, not just hear about it. Get creative and do something instead of just talking.

2.??????????Next, let's offer a comprehensive overview of the necessary requirements that apply to their respective roles, in regards to compliance. It all comes down to making sure that everyone feel connected and confident with routine consent and adequately understands the rules before executing them -- because it simply doesn't work the other way around!

3.??????????Create and provide training materials such as presentations, videos or handouts that break down the compliance requirements into manageable and easy-to-understand chunks. Oh, yes, do not forget to think how to not make them rush through the course as fast as they can.

4.??????????Make sure to provide opportunities for hands-on practice, such as role-playing scenarios, to help new employees understand and apply the compliance requirements in real-life situations. When role-playing, for instance, these scenarios are especially helpful in grasping the requirements and applying them in real life. After all, remembering anything from anatomy to algebra is one thing; successfully implementing it is something else entirely. So let's give those new staff members a chance to waltz their learning around the floor and make it count.

5.??????????Establish an open-door policy, one where everyone can always feel comfortable asking any questions or expressing any concerns. Support by investing in the resources you need to get up to speed quickly, so they do not experience lengthy onboarding. Offer step-by-step guidance along the way and humorous advice sprinkled in with it too.

One more thing: if your team asks a question more than once, we guarantee that you have some learners who still don’t understand the basics.?Be there for your new comers every step of the way – put in place consistent support for them and make ongoing training available year-round.
