How should you write your linkedin profile?
Steve Wright
I take the photos - your business NEEDS - Your clients LOVE - and that turn your competitors green with ENVY ?? Why use stock shots when your people can SHINE - Show the human side of your business with your OWN people.
For some people, where words are their chosen discipline, it’s a joy but for many I’m sure it’s more like woe.
Should I stand on top of a mountain with a megaphone or sit under that bushel and just murmur it quietly? Is it a British thing that make us more reserved and not want to broadcast about ourselves? Should it be written in the 1st or 3rd person? Should it be like a CV or rather portray how you can help with your talent? Long enough to be nominated for a Booker prize or short enough to fit on a beer mat? And after you have struggled over all of that how many people will read it?
These are just a few things that came to mind when I thought I should rewrite mine, as the original one was dashed off when I filled out my initial linkedin profile.
So I thought it would be a good idea (or not) to put it out there and get some feedback? I’m aways happy to critique a photo but writing is a skill that I confess is not my forte.
Positive, negative or just humorous: any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
New LinkedIn Profile
With over 30 years’ experience working for leading international companies as well as smaller independents, I have amassed an impressive track record as a commercial and advertising photographer.
I bring a wealth of knowledge gained from photographing a wide variety of subjects both in the UK and abroad. I am a people person and love meeting, liaising with and photographing different personalities. “As soon as Steve walked through the door he put everyone at ease” is a phrase that I’m proud many of my clients have said.
Working in sectors as varied as hospitality, property, retail, manufacturing, tourism, education, food, PR, transport and banking, I have built up an impressive and unique portfolio.
One market that I recognised as needing dedicated and specific photographic skills is the veterinary world, so I have created www.vetsphotography.com specialising in providing bespoke images to the veterinary market.
I thrive on learning new skills and keeping up with the latest technology, which is crucial as the photography world has radically changed since I began in my profession. I have invested a lot of time recently in becoming an expert in 3D interactive imagery, 360 degree tours using the cutting edge technology of Matterport.
