How NOT TO Set Your Fees in Private Practice

How NOT TO Set Your Fees in Private Practice

Do you struggle with setting the right session fee or increasing your fees?

If yes, then do read on?:)

From my experience, in having mentored and coached a significant amount of practice owners over the last few years, it is clear that people set their fees based on one of the following 4 methods:

  1. The PFOMA Method:?When you apply the PFOMA method you are literally ‘Pulling the Figure Outta My Ass’ – or in this instance your ass.
  2. The Market Method:?Where you research the market to get the upper and lower figure of what people are charging in your local area, so you can secure your position somewhere in the middle. This is generally perceived as the safe option.
  3. The Peer Method:?This is where you poll a bunch of your peers (i.e. other clinicians or owners) asking them what THEY think YOU should be charging… because they obviously know all the ins and outs of how you run your business, right?
  4. The Worth Method:?This is where people around you encourage you to charge your worth (because they love you and want to support you). But, like…. How do you even know what you are worth? How do you quantify worth? Me? I think I’m worth ….one M I L L I O N dollars! But I won’t get to help practice owners like your, if I were to charge that!

Now, although all 4 of the above methods will give you a figure to charge, it will most likely not result in the RIGHT figure for YOUR practice and YOUR financial goals.

And if you are really honest with yourself, do you think that setting your fee based on a guess, the opinions of others, or how you are feeling is considered best business practice…?

I think… not!

Instead, what you want to do is base your fee on actual and real DATA.

Later this week, I will be sharing a FREE training on the exact steps you need to take to set the right fees for your practice and your individual financial goals. This training will be running exclusively within my 'Private Practice Success for Allied Health Professionals ' Facebook Group.

As an extra bonus, I’m also going to throw in an Excel TEMPLATE to help you do the calculations - how cool is that!

So, if you want free access to this training and template, then be sure to join me and other like-minded private practice owners in our dedicated Facebook Group via this link:
