How the series "Bridgerton" shows our place in life

Have you ever wondered what the meaning of our lives is?

Do we decide how to live, or is everything predetermined for us?

Let’s look at this through the lens of the popular series "Bridgerton."

The series shows how, in the Victorian era, there was a system that restricted people’s futures, like a matrix. If you were born into a simple family, your life was predetermined.

Dreams of higher education or career growth? Forget it. Your fate was already decided.

Daphne Bridgerton, as the daughter of an influential family, had certain obligations and rules. Her life was about balls, finding a beneficial marriage, and adhering to social norms. She had to find a good husband to maintain the family’s status.

Eloise Bridgerton, though from the same family, dreamed of more. She wanted to learn, explore the world, and have the freedom to choose. But society did not support such ambitions in women. Her opportunities were also limited.

Penelope Featherington, intelligent and talented, remained in the shadows. Her dreams and ambitions did not meet society's expectations. She had to play the role of a modest lady, hoping only for marriage and stability.

Finally, Theo Sharpe, who worked in a printing shop, was very smart but his life was also limited. His friendship with Eloise ended because of what society would think.

His future was determined by the system, and he could never become successful because of these constraints.

This is similar to our lives today

We were taught to go to school, then university, find a stable job, and not break the system. Parents, society – everyone instilled this ideology in us.

Not finishing university? It’s a disgrace, a shame for the family. All these social norms limit us.

Why is the world built this way? It all stems from the past, from the desire of the authorities to control. And even now, we limit ourselves with these old frameworks.

When I finished school, I already knew I didn't want to go to university. It didn’t align with my dreams. I dreamed of creating a football academy, a huge academy that would nurture talents.

However, I understood that I needed to finish university to have the opportunity to study at the Johan Cruyff Institute, the best university in the world for football management. This dream kept me in university. I studied for three years and completed my bachelor's degree.

During my studies, I realized that university is part of a larger system that determines our life paths. Like many other students, I became part of this system.

We are all inside the system

Most people study to then get a job, work in a company, climb the career ladder, save money for retirement, and wait for old age. This system has existed for centuries. It was created to keep people within boundaries, ensuring societal stability.

Modern corporations are a new form of the same system. Most people work 8-10 hours a day, under micromanagement, often in toxic conditions. They give their best years, from 20 to 60, to the benefit of the company, hoping to enjoy their retirement in old age.

But is this real life? Do you want to spend your active years working for someone else, just to hope for a peaceful old age? Will you even have the strength and health to enjoy it? Most corporations act in their own interests, not in the interests of their employees.

Have you ever wondered what the meaning of our lives is? Is the path you chose really going to lead you to happiness?

Happiness is doing what you love, when your activities align with your talents, and you create value in the world, receiving recognition and reward.

But can you achieve this working a regular job? No.

You need to build your own business, become an entrepreneur. Why are people afraid of this? The systematic thinking ingrained in us doesn’t allow us to see beyond this matrix.

We fear the unknown because we’ve always been told that the traditional path is the only right one, that big money is bad, and that stability is the only reliable option.

The example from "Bridgerton" perfectly illustrates this. The Victorian era had a clear system that determined people's life paths. If you were born into a simple family, your future was predetermined.

Dreams of higher education or career growth? Forget it. Your fate was already decided.

However, in reality, this is a trap. Many people are unhappy, working in toxic environments, under micromanagement, without the ability to realize their potential.

Moreover, if this path were reliable. You see that artificial intelligence is developing at an incredible pace. Programmers, who once were at the top of the career ladder, might soon lose their jobs because robots will be writing code for them.

The IT industry is changing, and those who don’t adapt risk being left without jobs. We are already seeing massive layoffs worldwide.

This is the real reality of what work is like now and where it’s leading.

...

The question is up to you. If you are satisfied with becoming a senior specialist or earning a few thousand dollars a month but always having the risk of being laid off and losing your so-called stability, then okay. This article is not for you.

But if you feel that you want something more, but don’t know what, if you don’t have a great lifelong dream you want to pursue, then this article is for you.

And not just the article.

I am finishing a course that will be released on June 7. It’s a course about radical life changes and how to build the right mindset.

And there, I will share how I broke out of this matrix, how I managed to go through an entire IT career from scratch in a year and a half, transition into business, create my own business, build a brand on LinkedIn, and achieve maximum freedom, both financially and overall.

How I escaped the matrix of society’s imposed life path, a truly enslaving path, and moved to a life that I build myself, as I want, a life where I create my own matrix.

How much time I want to spend with my children, wife, relatives, and hobbies.

Not giving them the leftover time after work, but planning time with them first, and fitting work around when all my needs and life areas are fulfilled.

That’s my matrix.

If you want to build a similar matrix, whether you’re an entrepreneur or an IT professional, and you feel that you’re not moving in line with your purpose, struggling, and wanting more, wanting to build your own matrix and escape the current, imposed one but don’t know how, this key is for you.

The announcement will be next week.

To be sure, power elements and cultural assumptions have an approach to deeply shaping our lives, frequently without us understanding it. The strain to adjust to laid out standards, whether through college or vocation decisions, can feel overpowering.

Quite enjoyed the article! We are all stuck in some sort of a system, which ultimately pleases everyone else but ourselves. Love the Bridgerton correlation, big fan!
