How to send your Resume
Resume is a quick summary about your work experience, educations and skills. It will help you get an interview but not a job.
There are lots of websites where people find resume templates which they can fill up to make their resumes look professional. Most resumes we receive are well written and fit in the format. Despite this, many resumes are rejected because they are not sent in a proper manner. Especially when emailed to the company HR.
1. Mail Content - When mailing your resume, the email much contain a proper subject which tells about your qualification and the post for which you are applying. This should be followed by a proper greeting. Followed by a small introduction about your education background, experience and job details. Most candidates (especially freshers) do not follow this and end up getting rejected even before an interview.
One more important thing that people miss out is to email on recipient each. There are situations when candidates email their resumes to multiple organisations and to save time, you CC it to their targets. This puts up a very negative impression and shows your desperation for a job.
2. Attaching your resume - Most candidates attach their resumes with inappropriate names like New Resume.doc , Resumev1.doc and so on. This displays your organisational skills at first glance. Always it is suggested to put your name as the file name and add your job position if required.
3. Text - The mail content must be properly formulated as said above. Sending a blank email will get you rejected at first instance. Even simple english sentences can make a good impact. There is no need to put it jargon of words in your email
Here are some instances that will get you rejected immediately if the organisation is looking for some real good candidates,
This is something that will not lead you anywhere.
This is an example to show you that creating complex sentences will not lead to hiring.
Sending a blank email will put the mail either in the spam box or will be deleted without much investigation.
The maximum time that one has to impress a recruiter is 30-45 seconds. Hence, it is always advised to keep things simple. You will have a better chance.
