How will SEND children be assessed in the new curriculum?

The Rochford Review report is now here. If you haven’t read it yet, here’s two key points from the report on the curriculum and assessment:
- It recommends that the compulsory use of P Scales should end
- Many schools are using P scales as a curriculum, when they are meant to be an assessment tool
So what will replace P Scales if the DfE follows the recommendations?
For now, we have the Interim Teacher Assessment Framework at the end of Key Stages 1 and 2. But that’s not much to build a curriculum from. The focus is on planning a curriculum around each child’s needs.
