How to Sell Waste to Japan

How to Sell Waste to Japan

You'll agree that Japan is vastly different from the rest of the world with their super-high technologies. It seems that the whole World lives in 21st century and Japan in 23rd!

So, here we are, selling our waste that becomes valuable raw materials in Japan, and our collaboration is growing with increasing shipment volumes.

I want to tell you how it happened. The product we sell is scrap metal extracted from slag dumps, referred to in our niche as "skulls"

Our manager somehow got in touch with a scrap metal trader. I remember vividly that they conducted video negotiations. It's worth noting that the Japanese are a very curious people, and they are interested in everything new.

So, a Japanese trader became interested. However, during the negotiations, he expressed concerns about the quality (more precisely, how to assess the quality of such a non-standard product), and he had doubts about the payment conditions (we requested the opening of a letter of credit or a small advance payment). Our manager continued negotiations, and after about three months from the first call, the Japanese trader ordered a small batch of 100 tons.

We made the delivery, and the quality of the product pleasantly surprised him (his end consumer also positively evaluated the product). Then there was a lull for another 2-3 months due to a slow market, after which our client ordered another 100 tons. The quality of the second batch was no worse than the first. In the future, we started regular shipments. Also, our Japanese partner asked us to send several containers from our other sources to promote this product in the Japanese market.

The reason I'm writing all this is that I want to convey that we can also develop new markets together with you. You have relationships with end consumers in your region. And you have a reputation. We have the material.

I propose to develop our business together.

Email us to [email protected] and we will get in touch with you to discuss all possible cooperation options.

If you are still considering or haven't yet come up with ideas for collaboration, be sure to read my next letter. There I will explain how prices for "skulls" are formed.
