Language barriers can be extremely challenging, but they aren’t a complete dealbreaker! Trust me, I know. I’m originally from Budapest, yet I’ve had a flourishing career in retention marketing, where a lot of clients that I work with are from the US market. In fact, I actually started out my career in retention marketing as a copywriter.
A lot of successful businesses that sell in the US are actually founded by non-native English speakers. Just look at Peep Laja, for instance. He is the founder of CXL, one of the world’s leading global marketing agencies, and he’s achieved great heights of success without being a native English speaker.?
Curious to see how you can ace your role as a copywriter/salesperson/business owner in an English-speaking country without having perfect English?
Watch the video below if you’d like to know more about how to target English-speaking countries without being great at English.?
Here’s how:
?Focus on communication: Great copywriting is all about how well you can connect with your audience. Focus on getting your message out in a way that connects with your audience.?
?Keep it simple: You don’t need fancy words to attract customers. The easier your message is to understand, the wider reach it will have.?
?Embrace your accent: People in the US are open to non-native speakers as it’s a country filled with immigrants. Embrace your accent because it can actually be quite endearing for your customers.?
?Make your weaknesses your strength: Remember that not being a native English speaker is a part of your story. Your customers will be drawn to buy from you when they see your determination and passion for selling your product/services despite your language barrier.?
