The game of selling a product and or a service nowadays is more difficult than it was in the past. The digital trend is blowing up and people can see the same offer appear over many companies which creates high competition for any salesperson.?
Typical buyers will more likely to purchase from a big company that has strong credibility in the market. So how can you compete with them and pave the way to convert customers into buyers. Work on the sales experience that you bring to the clients.?
Understand why people buy
The most common reason that somebody decides to purchase something is they have a problem. When you're sick you buy medicine, when you're hungry you buy food, or when your car is broken you purchase a car-fixing service.
The second most common reason is when people understand that they can achieve their ideal destination by using the products. For example, a guy who wants to gain muscle buy a Protein shake, or a person who wants to build an online business purchase an online course.?
Choose the right audience
Before you work on your sales process, you must identify your customers the more personal the better. Ask yourself these questions:
In this article, I will only focus on online selling and the best method to identify potential customers for this is exchanging lead magnets. A lead magnet is something you create for free and exchange for people's contact information in order to identify them as targeted customers. For instance, your niche is about weight loss and you're trying to sell a how-to-loose-weight tutorial. Your lead magnet can be about "Tips to burn belly fat with fruit nobody talks about". Whoever exchanges their information such as email, phone number, and name is interested in losing their weight. With this method, you can address the right customers and not spend time advising the wrong ones.
There're other ways to target the right customers for your business is to build your brand. You can use social media, blogs, Youtube, and websites and start talking about your niche. By this, people who view your content and engage are the one who has an interest. In this case, inserting a chatbot to start the conversation with them is a good idea since you can get more personal and convert them into buyers in the long run. Personal DM is another effective way that you can try.
Step by step on how to sell anything to anybody
I'm going to talk about 3 main steps that you can fix your customer's problems and help them achieve the ideal goal through your product.?
Step 1: Addressing customer's pain
In this case, you will research your customers to see if they have a problem that you can solve. Back in the day, there was only a phone number and a salesperson had to be aggressive on a phone call to close a deal. Today, the process gets easier since people share most of their information online. This allows you to spend time to know about the customers and create the bullet point that will attract their attention to your story.?

Step 2: Make your customers notice their pain
In this step, you're going to communicate with the customers and ask them about their business. Remember in this stage, don't show them that you have a product to sell. Just asking as somebody who loves to learn. The point here is to know whether they have a problem that can be solved by your product. Then kindly ask them again about the problem to make them notice it.
Step 3: Pitch your product
Once they talk about their issues, you can start talking about your offer. Remember, don't be aggressive but take it easy and smooth. Start with "Would you like to hear about ....". Once they agree to know more about your product, show them the advantages of your product through proof of previous users, case studies, and details of how it works to improve the situation.?
I know you're tired of reading the same complicating sell concept that you can find anywhere on the internet. Because of that, I'm giving you a specific example so you can have a better look at how these 3 processes can be implemented.
?i.e. If I promote software that helps automate interaction on social media. What I would do is go on Linkedin, looking for a business owner, CEO, or manager of a company that has multiple social media platforms (people how all those information on Linkedin). Then, I start sending them a connection with a personal message about them, never talk about yourself first in a selling process. The message can be something like: "Hi Christina, just saw your new post on Instagram today. Really helpful! I also see you're working hard on Facebook and Linkedin too. Love what you're doing there. I thought it would be nice to connect with you. Thank you."
Once my clients respond to my message, I will address their pain. Don't go straight into talking about your product right away, it will make you sound like a traditional aggressive salesperson. In this case, I will ask them about how they work and manage their social media.?
Once they claim that they spend time working on it by themselves or money to hire somebody to do it for them, I can start talking about my product, which helps them automate the task and save time or money. You can see that the customer's pain, in this case, is spending much time or money to keep their audience engaged on social media platforms. My product solves their problem and gets them to the ideal destination which saves time or money.?
Note: When you talk about an offer you're selling, don't just talk about how good your product is but show them details about it. For instance, how to use it, talk about each feature that it has, or a tip on using it. Imagine your client is an alien who has no ideas about things and then makes your guides become as easy to be understood as possible.?
Conclusion
Selling is a type of art that includes essential factors and stages. The key to selling is to walk in your customer's shoes. Imagine you're the client, what would you want to hear and how would you feel about the product.?
There is no such thing as a "natural-born seller", practice makes perfect. Now, that you already understand step by step by step how to convince your audience to purchase your offer, go ahead and make your first movement in the sales game.?
