How selecting a Theme sets you up for success in achieving your goals

I'm not trying to confuse you when you're in Goal Setting season, but I'm simply sharing with you ideas that get you to think differently.?

A revered Self Employed Coach?Jeffrey Shaw?shared this approach with me and it set the tone for my 2022 and now 2023. Now I'm sharing the approach with you.

In 2022, my Theme was "Achieving Peace of Mind" and in my most recent podcast:?"Reflections and New Beginnings"?I share how I achieved my goals leveraging my theme as a guiding principle. Have a listen to this episode as it provides a valuable framework for setting up your 2023 for success.

If you start with goals with no vision of the future or setting a theme, you will get to the end of the year feeling unfulfilled.

If you set a goal of a promotion and don't get it, you will be let down. If you set a Theme of Personal Development and gaining new skills, more than likely you'll make better decisions on things in your control. An outcome of personal development may be a promotion, but regardless, you've moved yourself forward in your career.

In 2023, my theme is "Simplicity" and it will be my guiding principle for decisions in my life both personally and professionally. Once such example is repurposing all my content. Rather than recreating new all the time, I can share it multiple ways and repeat it to serve you as needed.

In the next week, I want you to?craft your Theme?and let me know what it will be.?Draft three goals?that include personal development a well as strategic and tactical work you need to do aligned with that theme.

When you send it to me, I'll provide you feedback. If you need more help,?book a short call?to see how I can support you for a successful 2023.

My upcoming solo podcasts in January are going to take you through the season of goal setting, so make sure you?follow here?and gain some valuable tips.?

With Simplicity being this years theme, I'll get to the point and wish you an amazing start to 2023!

And if you're seeking DIY resources to support you in 2023:?

One of the things I was told that I needed was?executive presence?to help me to get to the next level. I was kindly reminded by a member in my network that this is often more critical; beyond learning the soft skills which we've worked on in the past.

I never had a coach to help me with this and only once I was ready, did I figure out some of the elements that created my executive presence. If you think this is something that is needed; lets connect on January 10th to give you some insights into why this is important and actionable tips to start you on your journey.??

My word this year is Growth, Deb. It sounds simple, but it'll be a constant reminder that I need to spend more time outside my comfort zone than in!
