Easy pickings as the darker nights draw in?
As the darker evenings draw in, burglars are on the prowl for valuables, recognising that homes tend to be getting ready for seasonal celebrations and may have gifts, money or other valuable lying around the house or in the garage.
Offenders see garages as easy pickings because in most instances they are unprotected and lack basic security measures. The buildings often contain items that can be sold on or if the garage is attached to the home the opportunist has an access point to more opportunities.
Many garages, whilst being of good construction, fall short on basic security.
