How to search the web wide and deep

I have been experimenting with my internet searches. And I am learning many interesting things. Google is not the only search engine. Why did I start looking at searching beyond Google? It started with a query from a client. They were looking for ideas on "How to help two generations to work seamlessly together". A couple of conversations later we redefined the challenge. "How to bridge the generation gap".

Then I read an interesting article on Internet searc. By the well known internet expert Neil Patel. That is when I discovered a whole lot of search engines beyond Google.

Here is list of search engines:

1.    Google

2.   Bing

3.   Yahoo

4.   Yandex

5.   Ask

6.   DuckDuckGo

7.   AOL

8.   Dogpile

So I spent time searching for content on "Bridging the generation gap". Found some excellent material.

I also discovered an interesting book called "Deep Search" by Alan Pearce. A lot more insights there too.

I realised one thing though. You must a lot of patience, time and willingness to hunt for more information. And you are bound to strike oil.

Here is a thought I have. What if I offered a search service. It might work like this.

a. Client discusses what he is looking for and why - in broad terms.

b. I do the search amongst the top search engines beyond Google.

c. I write and share a management summary of the finding. The value addition could from my combined work experience. Sales. Advertising. Direct marketing. Consulting. Executive coach. Creativity/innovation facilitator/trainer/coach.

Let me know what you think. Write to me at [email protected] - let us explore what might be possible.
