How to Seamlessly Ingest and Sync Data from Salesforce to Snowflake using Clicks not Code with a Fivetran Connector!

· Allows You To Maintain Snowflake as Your Single Source of Truth: If you are already using Snowflake as your single source of truth this easily allows you to merge your Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data with Snowflake while also allowing you to maintain Snowflake as your single source of truth along with the vast amount of data features built into the Snowflake platform like time travel.

I was able to spin up a playground on Salesforce Trailhead and a Snowflake Trial account and get this integration setup in minutes. To try this out yourself follow the instructions below.

1. Sign up for a Salesforce Trailhead Account if you don’t have one already and spin up a Hands-On Org. You will need to follow the instructions on the Playground to retrieve your username and password.
2. Sign up for a Snowflake Trial Account if you don’t have one already and activate Fivetran by navigating to Data Products > Partner Connect and searching for Fivetran.

· You will need to create an account with Fivetran and you will need to login to Fivetran to create the connection between Salesforce and Snowflake. The integration between Salesforce and Snowflake is easily completed within just a few minutes with only configuration and no code! ?Note: Fivetran allows you to sync data for free for 14-days from Salesforce to Snowflake. The 14-days starts from the time you do your first sync.

Viewing my Salesforce and Snowflake Integration in Fivetran

You can easily view your synced objects from Salesforce to Snowflake under the schema tab. Please note that not all Salesforce objects are synced. Some system objects that provide information about sharing, security, etc. are not synced to Snowflake via Fivetran like the Account Share object.

Adjusting Sync Settings

Considerations

At the time of writing, Fivetran’s Salesforce and Snowflake connector is not bi-directional and only supports the ingestion of data from Salesforce to Snowflake.
