One of the questions we hear quite often is "How much does it cost to create custom training?" Regardless of whether you develop training in-house or you oversee those who do, we know the importance of being able to determine reasonably accurate estimates of how long it will take to develop a course.
Now, although there is no exact formula to scoping a training project, there are specific things you can do to help you come up with reasonable estimates and you'll find several options outlined in our latest article that you can use to get the ball rolling. We've also compared the top research studies and simplified the data to make the process of getting started that much easier for you!
Most everyone needs their project completed in a hurry, so if you're looking to shorten the time and costs associated with your next project even more, be sure to give these BONUS TIPS a try:
· Organize, outline and confirm the content as soon as possible and get it in writing.
· Build shorter courses that average about 10-20 minutes.
· Protect the development team from over-extending themselves on other projects, so they are able to keep your project a priority.
· Ensure SMEs commit to being available for questions.
· Select a small review team and have them review early and often, to keep things streamlined with quicker turn-around times and to avoid scope creep.
When putting together cost estimates and preparing project plans, we hope you find this resource a valuable tool that helps you successfully scope a project and achieve the results you and your audience want.
