How to be on the scientific job market anonymously…

On the LiCa Scientific website we have an anonymous job board where we shield from view the specific name of who our candidate is. They have a reference number which corresponds to our database, which naturally is private.

?

In this manner we keep confidential who some candidates are, while allowing hirers to see their details and make a decision as to whether they could be, in principle, interested. This part of the website can be found at https://www.licasci.com/cm/employers/candidate-profile-search

?

We did this because we felt candidates don't want to feel like a commodity, and not everyone wants the world to know they are available for a job move. For many it would be detrimental to be seen in this way. This allows for a gentler way of a hirer to start to consider someone. In sectors we serve like Sales, people will also regularly meet each other in the conference halls of the world and it removes an awkwardness should they ever want to review each other's profiles.

?

Naturally it’s very different to the recent zeitgeist/fashion of recruitment where it’s been in latter years normalised, that one should have contact with multiple organisations in their talent pools, and be ‘open to work’.

To a point I agree with this early-stage in a career, however once established in your career, it becomes less and less the approach that you will find best comfortable. You may prefer to operate with more subtlety once you arrive at a higher level a few years into the career.

We built this as a response to this to allow a space where people can be on the market… without being publicly on the market.

?

Do enquire with us should this interest you from any perspective.
