In 2023, Universal Analytics stopped collecting new data.
Let's do it another way this time. In the format of Q&A. But if you to read in peace, then here.
Why do I need historical data? What's so special about it?
A) You can see seasonal trends, for example, by month, quarter, or year;
Maybe they buy better in Q3 and don’t have such a need in Q2 because it`s cold yet.
B) You can identify increases or decreases in audience, traffic, conversions, revenue, and other indicators;
Traffic is an unstable thing, and there are some trends for people's interest in your product or service.
Of course, life will never be the same, we all need better days, but you have data, so you can analyze it and make decisions more effectively.
C) analyze the impact of specific actions or campaigns and identify weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
You had a good PPC campaign, and if you want to get great traffic again by recalling times when traffic was high and finding the accountant who was in charge of PPC, you can probably return those good times. Same with revenue and conversion. Plus, SWOT is useful when you are planning a new campaign.
