How to Save the Republican Party

Let me mention an idea. It's called "SAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY." The present Republican Party has become a monster. I am hearing about Republicans who are disaffected and who want to go independent. We should start an Online Community where disaffected Republicans can talk to each other and decide on what they can do to restore the Republican party's integrity. They may end up realizing that they should vote Democratic or not vote in order for the Democratic party to win. The result will be that good Republicans will finally be able to throw out Cruz and the bad guys saying "see what you have done to wreck our party. Now we have to rebuild it into a party of reason that will work with the other party. We can't be the party that always says no." @kotl

9 年John, as a life-long republican, I can say I am ashamed of how the RNC has handled the last two elections. Michael Steele ws totally infective an out of touch. The present management is not much better. Republicans had a great chance to regain a conservative government in 2017 and so far have blown it. The ticket they have presented is comical at best, save Kasich. However, what we have to choose from as Democrats is sad-- a socialist who wants to tax us to death and a liar and a cheat. We need to ask ourselves why we can't find someone in either party better equipped to lead us into the future.

9 年In Denmark we have a similar Conservative Party in even worse conditions. Tonight they dropped their support to our liberal Minister of Food and Agriculture, who is very popular amongst farmers. Now for sure this conservative party will loose all their rural votes leaving them with even more problems of survival. This is how it goes with too established parties with lack of core values and common sense.

9 年There is enough disaffection across both parties that a third party movement might become more than an imaginary threat.

9 年My paternal Grandfather was a life-long Republican party county and state worker. I have been a life-long Democrat and have always felt that I was somehow dishonoring his legacy. In recent conversation with my middle brother, he said, "The Republican party of today is no longer the party of our Grandfather. They just gotten mean-spirited. The Democratic party of today is more like our Grandfather's Republican party." I know that there are Republicans who are good people, and I hope that they will take control of their party.

9 年The Republican Party has spent the last two decades fanning the flames of hate and fear. In the last 8 years adding blatant obstructionism combined with willful ignorance. Where are the sane people to play in that space?
