How to Save Money with O365 Apps
The new wave of Project and Visio online offerings show a lot of promise in reducing spend and IT support costs. Microsoft has moved to the “Click to Run” delivery model for Office suite in the 365 offering. During this transition there have also been some nagging compatibility issues that have been driving end users to the like delivery style. A byproduct of this move has created Project and Visio plans that are made for and managed by the cloud. The software is now tied to a User and an AD account, which leads us to repurposing the software much quicker. With the MSI model, harvesting software required more of an asset management procedure but now it is becoming an unforeseen benefit for organizations. Unassigned licenses will sit right there in the administration console waiting to be used. Another area that is starting to take off and reduce both soft and hard cost is the release of the web browser based versions. These lighter functionality offerings provide benefits in many different ways:
· Delivered via web browser for fast deployment and no packaging
· Lighter features set and price to match
· Year to year subscriptions to avoid overpaying for those who only need it now and again
· Can be harvested quickly for reassignment in the Office 365 Admin console
