There has been some brilliant posts coming out over the last week packed with sales news, insights and tips:

Ryan Walsh shared an AMAZING post showcasing just how VALUABLE you might be working in sales when you take into account all of the numbers at play. Take a look and see just how much you're worth.

With the news surrounding OpenAI's fired and then re-hired CEO Sam Altman, Brandon Bornancin wrote an INCREDIBLE post highlighting how 700 of their 770 team members said they would resign if Sam Altman wasn't bought back as CEO. What a culture to have built. You can read the full post here .

There was some interesting, and concerning, insights shared in the "State of SDR Q4" 2023 survey shared by Mark Ackers at MySalesCoach . After speaking to 1,069 SDR's they found that only 1 in 12 described their role as "very fulfilling". You can see the full report here .

Let's make this December a powerhouse for sales! Here are five tips to end the year strong and set the stage for a fantastic start to January:

  1. Maximize Existing Relationships: Reach out to your current clients and prospects. It's the perfect time for relationship-building! Share gratitude for their partnership throughout the year and discuss potential opportunities for growth or collaboration in the upcoming year. Strengthening these connections can lead to immediate sales and set a promising tone for January.
  2. Create Urgency with Limited-Time Offers: Craft enticing offers or promotions with a limited-time window. The holiday season often sparks a sense of urgency in buyers. Capitalize on this by presenting special deals that encourage customers to make a purchase before the year ends. It's a great way to close deals quickly and boost December sales.
  3. Focus on Problem-Solving: Instead of merely selling a product or service, emphasize how your offering solves your customers' pain points. Understand their current challenges and tailor your pitch to showcase how your solution provides value and addresses their needs. This approach not only helps in closing deals but also establishes a foundation for long-term relationships.
  4. Strategic Prospecting for January: Use December to lay the groundwork for a successful January. Prospect actively and identify potential leads for the new year. Engage with prospects, understand their goals, and position your offerings as solutions that align with their objectives. Building this pipeline now will give you a head start in January.
  5. Celebrate Small Wins and Maintain Momentum: Acknowledge and celebrate every success, regardless of its size. Each sale, every positive conversation, and every new connection counts. Use these wins to fuel your motivation and maintain momentum throughout December. A positive mindset and enthusiasm are contagious and can lead to more sales opportunities.

Remember, this is a time to be proactive, creative, and enthusiastic!

By leveraging existing relationships, creating urgency, focusing on problem-solving, prospecting strategically, and maintaining momentum, you'll not only end the year strong but also set yourself up for a successful start in January.
