Moreso, the ROAD BASE is made of either lateritic material or crushed stone material when the road is designed as flexible pavement, and RC concrete slab when the road is designed as rigid pavement. There are some cases where the base has to be divided into sub-base (made up of stone or laterite) and the base (made of crush aggregates and stone dust) Surfacing has a BINDING COURSE made up of granite agg. of about 3/4 inches mix with bituminous binder, and WEARING COURSE made up of granite agg. less than 3/4 inches mixed with bituminous binder. And then we also have interlock surfacing which is a perfect example of the road that is built here.
