How to ride the AI wave

How to ride the AI wave

Think like a surfer, and try to ride the wave instead of fighting it. First step: get into the water and swim to get on top of the waves: learn more about AI by using it in your daily routine.

You may be familiar with Grammarly; add it to your email and word processor. Add ChatGPT, and start delegating simple writing tasks you might be postponing for lack of time or other priorities, such as updating your bio, resume,?website, or LinkedIn profile.

The more AI impacts your job, the more you must be an early adopter, not a laggard or a denier.

First, don't let the fear of new technology take over. Don't fall into the "Luddite tramp[1]."

AI can be a powerful intellectual augmentation[2] tool, like the spell checker or Grammarly (which is an excellent example of AI we use to edit this paper and ChatGPT inputs).

Teachers and editors already have the tools to detect AI-generated content with AI tools[3]. Universities and schools are already embracing AI and designing educational programs, teaching, and academic work with it instead of without or against it. ChatGPT itself can be used to check and recognize ChatGPT-generated content.

Prompt: can ChatGPT be used to check if a text was created with ChatGPT?????????????

Chat GPT: Yes, it is technically possible to use ChatGPT to check whether a text was created with ChatGPT. One way to do this would be to fine-tune ChatGPT on a dataset of texts known to have been generated by ChatGPT and then use this fine-tuned model to classify new texts as either generated by ChatGPT or not.

Alternatively, one could use a pre-trained version of the model to generate text from a given prompt, then compare the generated text with the text in question, looking for similarities. However, please note that this kind of text generated by GPT-3 or GPT-2 like models is close to the human-generated text, so it would be hard to say with high confidence that a model or a human-generated text

?From rejection to adoption:

The best way to channel AI to positive uses is… using it positively.

Those of a certain age can remember when hand calculators used to be banned in the classroom. That was an example of nailing Jell-O or standing on the beach fighting the waves.

Education

1.???????Writers' and scholars' assistant

2.?????Leveraging learning

a.?????Set new AI-based standards

b.?????Design for (and with) AI in mind

3.?????Teaching assistance:

ChatGPT can assist teachers in several ways:

1.?????Automating repetitive tasks: Teachers can use ChatGPT to generate reports, grade assignments, and answer frequently asked questions

2.?????Providing instant assistance to students: ChatGPT can answer students' questions in real-time and provide resources and learning materials on-demand

3.?????Generating personalized learning content: Teachers can use ChatGPT to generate customized quizzes, exercises, and lessons for individual students based on their needs and abilities

4.?????Supporting remote learning: ChatGPT can provide students with 24/7 access to learning resources and support, allowing teachers to continue providing instruction even when students are not in the classroom

5.?????Improving language proficiency: ChatGPT can be used to help non-native speakers practice their language skills in a conversational setting

6.?????Answering administrative questions: Teachers can use ChatGPT to answer questions about policies, procedures, and other administrative matters, freeing up time for more meaningful interactions with students

Work

1.??????AI Embedded in desktop software, like MS Excel or Google Sheets[4].

"Companies like Microsoft are rumored to be making plans to integrate ChatGPT into its Office suite software like MS Word. There will likely be a future where ChatGPT as a service is accessed through multiple applications, although with a more streamlined use.[5]"

2.?????Augmenting the capabilities of search engines and browsers;

[1] A Luddite is a person who opposes technological change and is opposed to increased industrialization, especially as it relates to labor practices. The term is often used to describe individuals who resist new technology and cling to traditional ways of doing things. The name "Luddite" comes from a group of 19th-century English textile workers who staged protests against the increasing use of machines in the workplace.
