How Richard Branson Inspires us to: "Screw it, Let's Do it."

Ok, let's be honest, if you're on LinkedIn, you have seen Sir Richard Branson's name or face pop up on your screen.  You may even be one of his 8,133,300 followers!  That's almost double the amount for Bill Gates (sorry Bill).  Branson is the leader of the pack on LinkedIn.  

It is not surprising He is the Rockstar of the business world.  Branson is successful, intriguing and we can learn a ton from him.  Let's take a closer look why we can't get enough of him:

Good Looking and a Billionaire

Let's face it, this is not a combo we find every day

He has a Private Island

Everyone has dreams of what they will do with the money from their success.  We hear about Yachts, Private Jets, and one of the most fun, your own private island.

Other exciting people that have islands include Johnny Depp (Little Halls Pond Cay), Larry Ellison (Lanai, Hawaii) and Eddie Murphy (Rooster Cay)

He is the Founder of The Virgin Group

Virgin is known for their Airline, Music Company, and Space Travel.  Don't forget, the Virgin Group is comprised of over 400 companies

Branson has crossed the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean at record speed via boat and hot air balloon.  He has also made several attempts to circumnavigate the globe via hot air balloon.  One of his more recent record breakers was a fundraiser that brought together the largest parade of kite-surfers ever!  

Those good looks and charisma have put him in our living room

Branson has guest starred in several shows including Friends and Baywatch.  He also had his own reality television show called The Rebel Billionaire.  

He cut ties with the Tie

Before Silicon Valley became famous for hoodies and jeans, Branson had already parted ways with standard business attire.   He is a non-conformist.  Most recently, he has announced that Virgin staff can take as much holiday as they want.  Sounds good to me.  

The Humanitarian

Branson has been involved with humanitarian effort all over the world.  He co-created the Elders with Peter Gabriel in 2007.  Most recently, he has helped the African Wildlife Foundation.
