Almost three years since the UK voted to leave the EU, the process remains incomplete. “No one, least of all British lawmakers, seems to know how Brexit will happen, when it will happen or even whether it will happen at all,”
At least one prominent figure, European Council president Donald Tusk, thinks there’s a decent chance Brexit won’t happen at all. In a recent interview he said, “Today the chance that Brexit will not happen is, in my opinion, 20%-30%.”
So as this soap opera unfolds, where does it leave those wanting to move to the UK before the Brexit deadline and is there still time. Well if you are wealthy with sufficient funds the answer is a big yes, however you will have to move fast?
If you can apply and get EU Citizenship in relatively fast time, then you can move to the UK as an EU Citizen prior to December 31st 2020. Once you are living in the UK as an EU Citizens you can apply under the EU Settlement Scheme to stay living in the UK.
Therefore the big question is how to quickly obtain EU Citizenship. If you have €2.15m available to invest then you can apply as part of the fast track Cyprus Investment Programme and get full EU Citizenship and passport in just 6-8 months. This will provide you with sufficient time to move to the UK prior to the 31st December and beat the Brexit deadline.
