How To Rewire Yourself For Success In 2021

By Jack Kelly

We all know that 2020 was a disaster. It's time to put it in the past and look forward to the future. This will divide people into two camps—the ones who can’t move on and the people that make up their minds to improve their lives and careers. The start of 2021 is the right time to become the person you always wanted to be.

It's not only the covid pandemic that affected us. To a certain degree our thoughts and beliefs were shaped early on by our parents, teachers and societal norms. For instance, if your parents were unduly cautious and afraid of change, there’s a high likelihood you’re the same way as an adult.

The challenge—and it's a tough one—is to decide if the traits inculcated in you at a tender age are standing in the way of your future success. If that’s the case, the key to actualizing your full potential requires developing new positive habits and ways of thinking that promote change and action.

Successful, happy people have clear, positive self-ideals of themselves. Start thinking about the type of person you want to be. What do you want for your job and career? Set goals and plan a system to achieve them. Work hard every day to make them happen. Ignore all the haters and negative people who want you to remain the way you were.

Get rid of the traits you don’t like about yourself and cast off negative beliefs that are holding you back. You’ll slowly start to see a change in the way people react to you. They’ll be drawn to your new confidence and self-assuredness. You’ll be admired and respected. More job and business opportunities will open up for you.

Face the day unafraid of failure. Don't take it personally when things go sideways. Have your own thoughts and opinions. Defer gratification and save money to invest in yourself, not on frivolous material things. Avoid distractions such as spending too much time on divisive social media that gets your blood boiling. Don't sweat the small stuff. Learn to protect your valuable time by saying “no, thank you.” Always continue to learn and grow.  As you notice small incremental successes, you’ll garner more confidence. This will embolden you to take more chances. You’ll find yourself standing up straighter with shoulders back and head held up high. You’ll speak with greater authority, confidence and clarity.

Each step of success will lead to more opportunities. It becomes a perpetual positive cycle of empowerment, propelling you forward in your new happier, successful rewired life.
