How to respond when you get ghosted…

It happens to the best people sometimes, it’s happened to me many times.? ?
They said they’d let you know either way, and you replied, “Great I look forward to hearing from!”? ?
And nothing.? ?
Absolutely no response. ?
So you follow up with: “Hey, great to meet with you last week, wondering if there are any updates on the position I interviewed for?” ?
Still NOTHING. ?
So now what should you do? ?
Answer: NOTHING. ?
Don’t give them any of your energy or emotional resources.? ?
It’s an unarguable Universal Law that You will GET what you focus on.? ?
Every moment you spend problem-solving for someone who’s not ready to commit to you is a minute you’re NOT problem-solving for how you’re showing up for that who IS ready.? ?
Now... ?
What about that person who said they thought you were awesome, and they potentially want to hire you... but they are interviewing other candidates first?
What should you do then? ?
Still: NOTHING. ?
Do not give them anything more, not a scrap of thought more.? ?
You GET WHAT you FOCUS ON. ?
Every moment spent, trying to figure out how to convince those people that you are the best candidate, comes at an opportunity COST to you.? ?
It’s the cost of the time you’d spend NOT calling in the opportunity that knows they want YOU and aren’t interested in shopping around.?? ?
What about the person who says they’re re-structuring, and they’re looking to hire in the next few months?? ?
What do you do then? NOTHING. ?
Leave them to do their thing.? ?
You GET what you FOCUS on!? ?
Every bit of thought juice you have, who aren’t ready. You’re not giving it to attracting the opportunity of the company and Manager who are ecstatic to have you, and are going to move through the process with you fast, because they know you’re the one.? ?
All let me just say…? ?
So much energy is wasted on this, if we took all the collective energy that is spent on pouting about people ghosting them, and we put it into a powerful plan for finding the people who you will find who WILL hire you, we’d be collectively WAY Farther ahead.? ?
That doesn’t mean I think it’s 100% Acceptable for people to do it either, as a human I think it’s a generally bad practice for may reasons. I also have seen over the years that it’s just it’s NEVER going to serve you to allocate time and energy to the circumstance of being “ghosted." ?
Discipline here is underrated! Because where you put your mind and attention, what you spend time thinking about and problem-solving for literally creates what you’re living out.? ?

If you want to call people who ‘get’ you, think you have no parallel, and are hungry for every idea you have, because it aligns like nothing else has… ?
… (by the way, YOU GET TO HAVE that)… ?
… your first job to (1) believe that they exist, (2) deprive all the other random shit taking up space in your brain of oxygen, and (3) create an energetic ecosystem that is exclusively for THEM. ?
You might be asking, at this point… “Is this enough? What about people who say I’m awesome but still haven’t hired me or referred me?" ?
Why haven’t they indeed? Great question. There are only two reasons. ?
(1) There are still gaps of information for them. ?
(2) and/or they are still working on feeling SAFE enough to pull the trigger.
So, how do you strategically fill those gaps of information, and create the safety for them to hire? ?
And do it with care and consideration for them as human beings? ?

For every loving supporter you gain who tells you that you’re awesome, there are 10 more who haven’t told you that, but are THINKING it. ?
This has certainly been proven true from the years I’ve been writing content. And I can tell you that most people who end up working with me, don’t outwardly engage right away. ?
Never assume that what you see is all there is.? ?
Reality plays tricks on your brain. You must insistently believe in yourself and the immense value of what you offer.? ?
You're closer than you think.? ?
You can do this.
