How To: Resolve Issues in Event Viewer on your Local Machine.
Application issues can be the culprit behind slow performance on a computer. In this article, we're going to work towards resolving one of them.
Step 1: Right click the start button
Step 2: Click "Computer Management"
Step 3: Expand "Event Viewer"
Step 4: Expand "Windows Logs"
Step 5: Click "Application"
Step 6: Scroll down the list until you find an error (indicated by a red circle over an explanation point next to the level).
Step 7: Click the error.
Step 8: Click "Details"
Step 9: Expand "System"
Step 10: Scroll & Record "ProcessID"
Step 11: Open Task Manager (Press ctrl + shift + esc)
Step 12: Right click the column headers
Step 13: Click PID
Step 14: Scroll until you see a PID that matches the ProcessID you gathered earlier and record the name of the program causing the error.
Step 15: Go Back to Event Viewer
Step 16: Click the general tab and record the description.
