How to Repurpose Your Law Firm’s Content for Social Media

It’s important for law firms to market themselves on?social media as it is often the second digital channel potential clients land on after your website. However, being on social media is more than setting up a Facebook or Twitter profile and forgetting about it. In order to maintain an effective social media presence, your audience needs to see that your law firm is active and engaged.
That means posting plenty of content.
Of course, creating all that content takes time—something that most busy professionals don’t have to spare. Fortunately, you probably don’t have to start from scratch. You already have quite a bit of content online, even if it’s just your law firm’s website.
By repurposing existing content, you can keep your social media profiles active while investing far less time and effort.
Here's how you effectively repurpose blog posts for social media:
1. Convert Blog Articles Into Social Media Posts
Your law firm almost certainly has at least some content on its website pages. Beyond this, you may have created other forms of content, such as:
If you have any of these, you may have a goldmine for social media posts already at your fingertips. Look through the content—including your website copy—and see if anything looks promising. Then, take note of how you could repurpose it.
If you have any lists, such as tips, FAQs, or how-to guides, you can break those up into a series of bite-size social media posts. For example, a newsletter with “10 Things You Should Know Before Hiring a Construction Lawyer” could become 10 separate posts, with one tip each.
Even if the content isn’t already formatted into a list of tips and tricks, just look for catchy lines in emails, blogs, and newsletters that could serve as individual posts. Find the hidden gems and make them shine.
On platforms like LinkedIn, you can publish longer articles (like this one), making it even easier to reuse your old content. With a simple copy-and-paste, you could have a long-form post primed and ready to go.

2) Invest in Visuals
Visuals always?get more attention and engagement than plain text. So when you’re grabbing those great pieces of recycled content for your posts, consider converting some into a visual format.
This could be as simple as adding a quote or tip as a caption or text overlay on an eye-catching image—a common style for posting on Instagram.
For a more advanced approach, you could even design some infographics and diagrams. These are a great way to share statistics, FAQs, and other lists through a more appealing and easy-to-digest medium than boring old text.
Plus, you can fit a lot more information into a single post that way.
Creating visuals will also help you increase visibility for your law firm. Studies have shown that visual content is?40x more likely to be shared on social media. When your followers reshare your images and graphics to their own circles, they’ll be exposing your brand to a whole new audience.

If your law firm has conducted any video presentations, webinars, or even interviews, that can become another priceless source of social media content.
First, you can publish the full-length recordings on YouTube or other social media platforms. Then, you can find the best sections and post them as brief clips on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok.

If you already have some social media content, you can always repost it on other platforms.

That way, you’re getting more bang for your buck. Instead of having to come up with new content for each platform—and gamble that it will do well—you can simply reuse what you already know worked elsewhere.

1) Consider Your Repurposed Assets Before You Write
Get ahead of the game and note down what parts of an upcoming pillar post you can repurpose?before?you start writing. This makes the process more organic and less like you’re trying to plug a square brick into a round hole.
2) Cross-Promote on Different Platforms
Just because you’ve created a video for YouTube, doesn’t mean you can’t share it on Twitter or Facebook, too. Don’t feel you have to limit yourself to one type of content on each platform; lots of media work well on several channels, so mix it up.
3) Batch Your Content
Make life easier for yourself by getting “in the zone” and creating similar content at the same time. Put together all your infographics at once, shoot videos at the same time, and write out all your Twitter threads when you’re in the mood to write.
4) Keep It Simple and Make It Visual
Content repurposing doesn’t have to take a ton of time. It can simply be the act of making key points from a pillar post visual. For example, you see brands pulling quotes onto branded backgrounds all the time - so simple, but it can be very effective in getting shares and likes.
5) Link Back to the Original
Don’t forget to direct people back to the original pillar piece of content. All of this content forms part of a bigger ecosystem that, when connected up, performs better in search engines and creates a consistent message from your brand. Linking to the blog post from your repurposed content will boost traffic and your SEO efforts in the long run.
