How To Not Be Replaced By A Machine

How To Not Be Replaced By A Machine

A lot of people are worried that some day their job will be done by a machine. Should you worry, and what should you do about it?

There is no question that machines are doing more and more tasks these days. Some studies predict that up to 35% of jobs will be done by machines over the next 20 years.

The most vulnerable jobs are those that involve highly repeatable tasks such as calculating and executing. The least vulnerable jobs are those that have lots of creative and emotional content.

My advice is clear

Make sure that you develop your “human skills” to their full potential, and be prepared to work WITH machines, not against them.

The specific skills to develop are:

  • Inventing
  • Judging
  • Building human trust

Don’t ignore the machines. In fact, USE them to inspire and enable you in your job. You should also be prepared to teach machines, and give them new test ideas.

The future of work is not humans versus machines, it’s humans and machines.

Develop your human skills to the max and find a way to get along!

I do agree that the machine will take over anything that become inhuman, like the routine, doing the same boring thing over and over... And I believe that machines will seldom take jobs that need a human touch, and constant creativity. Because for that the machine need to be fixed very often...simple thought.

Enlightening and yet very bilateral. A view of convergence and overlap is more consistent with how this relationship will evolve.
