How to reinvent cancer research ?

While you are killing time, time is killing you. This is especially true when it’s about cancer detection. The more you let it grow, the harder it is to bring you back.
As a result, one of the huge challenges of cancer is early detection. Today the methods used are costly, and this prevents many populations to benefit from them. Well… it was, because now, believe it or not, thanks to our best animal friend, the dog, once again we can save your life !
You are wondering how right ? Well, as simply as they detect small amounts of drugs or explosives, dogs can detect very low doses of odors released by cancerous cells through the skin and harvested on a simple piece of tissue. After the dog is trained, it can detect as many cancers as needed at a very early stage for a very low price. This early diagnosis can be used both in the developed countries as well as in the emerging ones.
Sounds great no ? Yes ! And this project is already in our pipeline at KDOG (www.kdog.fr).
At KDOG, our transdisciplinary team constituted of caregivers, surgeons, cynophile experts, physics, biology and chemistry scientists, is happy to announce our launching event on April 2nd at 7 pm in Salle Colombani, 82 av. Denfert Rochereau, 75014 Paris for the “Nuit des Débats”. This adventure questions the links between research and civil society, position of patients, and research funding. We will present to you our team and our project, and will unveil the way you can help us launching this project into orbit !!!
See you there !
