How to Regain Your Influence
When you find yourself without influence, this article contains some thoughts about how to bite through.
When you must deal with people who pay you too little attention, or don’t seem to notice you, there are three things you can do:?
When you use force, it is usually a temporary victory.
With giving up (and with force,) you compromise your self-esteem.
When you want someone’s attention, the person feels it and might exploit it which rarely builds respect.
When you are intent on having an influence, you might not see that the person you are trying to influence is not treating you correctly. ?If you allow that, if you excuse it, or convince yourself that it is not that bad, you send the offender the message that however they behave, it is all right.
If you can allow things to work out, you strengthen your independence.?
Step back, breathe and remain neutral.? There is power in withdrawal.
