How to Reduce The Risk of Change Supplier
Today, I have a short story share with you by an old friend who met some vendor who cannot keep their promises for a critical project.
He said this happens when you try to switch to another vendor, especially, a new one.
And this is the reason why he never transfer a running order to a new supplier even with lower pricing.
Transfer order to a new supplier usually is kind of mess, unless you made careful control on the following:
1. Capability Check
Is this a factory major products are regular boards, or challenging boards?
2.Production capacity check
Is this factory good at Prototypes ( small to medium sized) or only good for bulk quantity?
3.Will products be delivered on time?
4. How about response time?
No one like the vendors who are answering every question 5hrs after your working hr ends.
So make sure your vendor understands you and you can talk effectively.
5. If problems happened, how shall we deal with it?
I believe no factory guarantee they have never had any quality issue.
Even if the top 1 factory sometimes made defective boards. We shall look into how to fix the problem, rather than accuse whose fault it is.
Make sure your new vendor is someone reliable after you paid total amount.
