Coach's Corner

Hey team - As Gen Z enters the workforce, companies must adapt their recruitment and retention strategies to attract this digitally savvy, socially conscious generation.

?

I sat down with Jeremy Boudinet , the VP of growth at Textla , to learn more about his approach. Jeremy was wildly passionate and had a pretty "hot take."?

Here are some key strategies to ensure your organization appeals to Gen Z:

  • Leverage technology: Gen Z grew up in the digital age, so they expect seamless, tech-driven recruitment processes. Use social media, AI-driven recruitment tools, and virtual interviews to meet them where they are most comfortable.
  • Offer growth opportunities: Career development is crucial for Gen Z. They value clear paths for advancement and opportunities to acquire new skills. Providing mentorship programs and continuous learning opportunities can set your company apart.
  • Promote a transparent company culture: Don't "baby" gen z... Textla makes their application process military-like. They let the applicants know that it's going to be really really hard. They oversell how hard it is going to be, working for a startup in order to weed out the folks that may not be cut out for their company. It's extremely transparent, something Gen Z loves. It also reduces the amount of mis-hires.
  • Prioritize purpose and impact: Gen Z wants to work for companies that make a difference. Communicate how your organization contributes to societal goals, whether through sustainability efforts, community involvement, or ethical business practices.

By embracing these strategies, your company can not only attract top Gen Z talent but also create a workplace where they’ll want to stay and thrive.
