一. Project Overview
The volume of the digester pond is generally tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands m3, so a large area of biogas digester pond surface is required to cover it. At present, it is widely used in China to cover the top surface of the regulating pool with a layer of HDPE (high-density polyethylene) geomembrane. The HDPE geomembrane floating on the sewage water surface and the regulating pond form a closed system. The gas generated in the closed body is collected and concentrated through the gas collecting pipe. During discharge and treatment, the floating cover membrane can rise and fall freely with the rise and fall of the regulating pool water level within a safe water level.
In this case, the floating cover geomembrane area of the regulating tank is about more than 7,000 square meters. The geomembrane cover was seriously damaged, leachate leaked out, and the bottom geomembrane was damaged. In order to achieve the purpose of no leakage in the regulating pond, effective diversion of rainwater and sewage, free rising and falling of the floating cover with the water level, no leakage of gas in the pool, and effective collection and drainage, the regulating pond needs to be upgraded. The TINM team provided geomembranes and other raw materials for the project and was responsible for this construction.
二. Digester pond reconstruction process:
1. Before construction, drain the leachate from the floating cover geomembrane and then remove the floating cover membrane
2. The regulating tank after removing the floating cover geomembrane
3. During construction, after the leachate is pumped out, nearly 1m of silt is exposed, and all the silt needs to be pumped out.
4. During the dredging process, it was found that the bottom geomembrane was bulging. The on-site engineer determined that the bottom geomembrane was damaged and there was leachate under the membrane. The leachate needed to be pumped out and the bottom geomembrane repaired.
5. Construction workers clean up the silt, cut open the old bottom geomembrane, and pump out the leachate from the bottom of the geomembrane

6. The regulating tank after cleaning the sludge and leachate.
7. Repair the old base film.
8. Lay geotextile on the repaired old base geomembrane to protect the lower old base membrane and the upper new base geomembrane
9. First lay 600g/㎡ geotextile, and then lay 2.0mm HDPE smooth geomembrane to form a double-layer anti-seepage system to effectively prevent leachate from seeping into the groundwater body
10. The construction personnel strictly followed the geomembrane welding process requirements and used imported double-seam welding machines to weld the geomembrane.
11. Technical personnel from a third-party testing company will use the "electric spark method" to inspect the geomembrane and welds
12. Install gas collection and exhaust systems.
13. Preparation and welding construction of ballast system and floating blocks
14. The overall renderings of the regulating pool project after passing the acceptance inspection
