How to read a book
This a mindmap summary of : The activity and art of reading.
Author Say's : "To be informed is to know simply that something is the case. To be enlightened is to know, in addition, what it is all about: why it is the case, what is the connections are with other facts, in what respect it is the same, in what respect it is the different , and so forth."
Author Say's : "There is the book; here is your mind. As you go through the pages, either you understand perfectly everything the author has to say or you don't. If you do, you may have gained information, but you could not have increased your understanding. If the book is completely intelligible to you from the start to finish, then the author and you are two minds in same mold. The symbols on the page merely express the common understanding you had before you met."
