How to Reach Your Goals 10x Faster in 2022 (The Scientific Way)

Can you relate?

Every time you start a new year, you make game-changing resolutions. Resolutions that will see your life change for the better.

But as the year progresses, you hesitate. And finally lose the motivation to pursue whatever goals you had set.

When the next New Year comes, it’s the same cycle.

And you think you’re a loser, you think it's because you’re lazy. Or maybe your dreams and goals are what they are, a mere fantasy.

In truth, you aren’t alone.

A recent research discovered that only 8% manage to achieve their New Year’s Resolution.

So the question is, how do you become one those? How do you achieve the goals you set? How do make them a reality, quickly?

Actually, there is a way. A scientific concept that you can use to reach your goals faster than ever. It's so effective that it's used by billionaires. Reason being, it gives you unlimited motivation.

What's the secret then?

The Magic Tool to Unlimited Motivation

In four words…

The "Expectancy theory of motivation".

Sounds cool, but what on earth is the Expectancy theory of Motivation? How does it have to do with achieving my own goals?

Good questions. Here are the answers:

The expectancy theory is a theory developed by a renowned Canadian Psychologist- Victor H. Vroom. He developed it as he studied the motivation behind decision making.

According to the expectancy theory, you are highly motivated to pursue your goals if three things occur:

The 3 Necessities for Unparalleled Motivation

1. Valence. The reason you are pursuing your goal must be compelling and important to you.

2. Instrumentality. You must have a clear plan on how you will achieve that goal

3. Expectancy. Belief that you are capable of executing that plan. And actually execute it.

These three work like a three-legged stool. Without one, you are less likely to succeed in achieving your goals.

Sum up the three necessities and you have unlimited motivation. You’ll be like a rocket ready to launch, with enough fuel to propel you against obstacles to your goals.

Let’s have a closer look at how you can create this infinite motivation for yourself:

1. Define your goal and why you want to achieve it

What do want to achieve? Is it starting a blog or a company? Is it quitting your addiction to something?

Why do you want to do it? The reason you want to do something is what makes you desire it and motivates you to do it.

In his article, The 3 Requirements for Huge Success, self-growth expert Benjamin Hardy says,

The more reasons you can give yourself for accomplishing something, the more motivated you will be. These reasons, when powerful, become NEEDS.

Interestingly, your reasons will help you make your goals clearer. The more exciting the reasons, the better.

Says Benjamin Hardy,

If you can make your reasons bigger, more exciting, and personally meaningful to you, then you’ll start to conceptualize clear goals.

With a clear goal, you’re more motivated to do everything it takes to achieve it. It’s no longer a mere goal, it’s like a need. You need to achieve it. It's among your top priorities.

And you’re ready for the next step.

2. Lay out the plan you will follow to achieve your desire

Once you have defined your goal clearly, it’s time to draw the execution plan.

Ask yourself, “What will you need? What do you need to do?”

While having a compelling reason is crucial, drawing a clear plan is what determines whether you will successfully actualize your goals.

Benjamin Hardy says,

If you don’t have strategies and people and resources — or ways to get resources — then you won’t be motivated and you won't achieve your goals.

Laying out a plan to achieve your goals is important. But you also need to be careful so you don’t make it complicated or too hard to execute.

The Best Way to Draw A Plan That Works to Your Advantage (Most Don’t)

From my own experience, the best way to make a plan that works is to have a roadmap.

One that outlines exactly what you need to do in every stage.

Like a pathway guiding you towards your desired goal. You need to breakdown your plan into small goals that take you closer to desired outcome.

You also need to determine the tools you need in each step. And most important of all, you need to determine the easiest way to do get those tools and the easiest way to use them.

That means getting knowledgeable. Learning from others who pursued similar goals or taking courses to teach you how.

Here's the Plan in Action:

Let’s say your desire is to become a popular blogger and make money money from it. Ask yourself, “How can I become a popular blogger?”

There are two ways to achieve this:

The first, figure it out on your own through trial and error. The latter is a harder and more time intensive. You will either waste a lot of time or give up before you achieve your goal.

The best way is to take a course that teaches you everything you need to know. You'd rather spend time learning from someone or following a tested method that works.

In other words, sometimes if your goal is bigger, you may need to find a mentor. If you find a course and a mentor, the better.

As Benjamin Hardy says,

The more clear you become on your target, the better equipped you’ll become to find solutions. Having a ‘WHY’ isn’t enough. You need ‘HOW’s’ and ‘WHO’s’ to help you achieve that vision.

Bottom line, you need to have a well laid out plan that will get you results. Be as specific as possible.

And now, the most critical part:

3. Believe that you’re the person to execute that plan (and execute it)

Something interesting happened to me when I was starting blogging.

I knew blogging would change my life, so I took the best blogging course that existed at the time. The course had well laid out strategies that would guarantee success. I carefully studied and practiced them.

But there was a problem:

Even though I wanted to be a blogger and I had the best course, I didn’t believe that I could be the guy behind a popular blog. Especially at my age and position, 19 years and a mere campus student. And so my blog never launched.

Because as Benjamin Hardy puts it, “It doesn’t matter if the WHY is powerful. It doesn’t matter if you have all of the best strategies. If you don’t believe you can execute, then you will self-sabotage.”

That’s why believing in yourself and developing the confidence to execute your plan is so important.

You may have to do things you never thought you could do.

You may have to adapt yourself to the person your goals need to make them real.

You’ll need to expand and grow into your vision. And actually, that’s one of the primary reasons to have a huge vision — to transform you into the type of person who can make it happen~ Benjamin Hardy.

If its writing a book, you will need to sacrifice time and prioritize writing a page, a section or a chapter a day. You will need to keep distractions at bay. You will need to learn new stuff and develop new habits.

But all that will be possible if you believe in yourself. You will need to change how you see and think about yourself. See yourself as the captain of your goals.

Strive above your fears and doubts because after all, your dreams and goals depend on you.

You Can Do It...

In the words of billionaire and activist, H.L.Hunt,

There are only three requirements for success. First, decide exactly what it is you want in life. Second, determine the price that you are going to have to pay to get the things you want. And third, and this is most important, resolve to pay that price.

It’s simple. Make your dreams your goals. And your goals your needs. Figure out how to fulfill those needs. Then resolve to make it happen.

That is the secret to achieving your goals. The surefire way that gets where you want to be.

So are you ready?

You better be.

Because your dreams and goals are waiting for you- the architecture who can design them.

And the engineer who can make them real.
