How to reach goals on LinkedIn

How to reach goals on LinkedIn

Today's lead - reaching goals!

Do you have goals?

Do you have dreams?

I love goals as I believe they are alternatives to dreams

The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be the far greater value than what you get. - Jim Rohn

When setting a goal, making a road map, being consistent and determined, you can get to your goal, reach your dream. Does it look compelling to you?

I hope this newsletter will be compelling for you as well.

How to reach goals on LinkedIn

What to do on LinkedIn to achieve your goals

I invite you to learn about the short-term gains that will lead you to long-term gains:

Short-term gains are:

  • people seeing you on LinkedIn might follow your headline as a hook to see your profile. Make sure that these 4 elements - your photo, name, cover banner, headline - are aligned and professional. These 4 are the ones that might raise interest to click on your name and see your profile.
  • When they land on your profile in the 1st glimpse they get a clear idea of who are you and how can you help. You have clearly stated how you can help , your credibility is backed with keywords relevant to the target audience. Make sure your headline, about section, experience, and skills section speak on your behalf. You have been recognized by other members within your skill section and recommendation section. Make your profile your credibility partner.

linkedIn profile

  • You are actively engaging and supporting your network with comments, likes, you are present on their updates, you connect, dm, keep the relationships alive. Only your active presence will help to grow your awareness.
  • You are a valuable member of the LinkedIn network by creating content, sharing your personal stories , professional case studies, your business news, sharing thoughts to inspire, overall - being an active part of the creator's community. Start with something, start any day, don't postpone your presence on LinkedIn. People learn from people, not from brands alone. Tell us your viewpoint. If there is anything you feel passionate about , we would love to know it. Also, use effective content types for better reach. True, LinkedIn is for professionals. Still, all the professionals are people. No doubt, LinkedIn is consumed on all weekdays and all hours, there are no office hours for reading content. So - post.

content strategy

Long-term gains are:

  • Recognition,
  • awareness
  • credibility,
  • loyalty,
  • trust,
  • size of your thought leadership footprint,
  • and strength of your reputation as an expert.

This is what you establish by being constantly active. Greatly important is if you are committed to the quality of your presence - within your posts, comments, relationship building.

If you see the value in building all the KPIs stated above, you will find a way to be present and consistent on LinkedIn.

Why LinkedIn plays such a big role in my life

  • There is always a story behind the story
  • There is always a milestone that becomes a turning point
  • There could be a specific person who gives you the right support an impulse in the right moment
  • There is always a right choice at the right time

My LinkedIn story

It begins back in summer 2018 (Yeah, I am new to LinkedIn, I would say so). That time I made a decision to move forward in my career and started looking g for a new job, I was very engaged still didn’t see growth possibilities and I knew its time to go. Luckily that job introduce me to my colleague, like-mind, and friend Kārlis Zari?? (we both left the company at the same time). And Kārlis introduced me to LinkedIn.

Kārlis said: Ieva I think you should establish your profile on LinkedIn.

I said: LinkedIn, what? OK. I will.

And I did.

Although setting a profile didn’t lead me to my next position, still it helped me to learn this platform for sure. I started consuming content, soon posting, and enjoying the vibe and community of creators .

The next milestone was a person who showed me the core value of LinkedIn (a reason why I love it so much) is Inga Ozola . It was fall 2018 when I got curious to learn more about the Lean approach, Agile methodologies, and I saw a video of Inga on Youtube explaining Lean practices in her workplace. After seeing videos I took my courage and wrote a DM on LinkedIn to Inga - just to appreciate the tips she shared and mention that I will apply them in my work as a global customer service specialist. And what a surprise for me was that Inga answered. She also offered her guidance if any questions arise to support my activities while building customer service guidelines. At that moment I truly understood that LinkedIn is for relationships. That we do care about each other. That we can reach each other and we will replay (can't say the same about Facebook, Instagram for example, people not always replay to dm's). That we will provide value for each other. Instant love. That’s it. That day I truly fell in love with LinkedIn.

Since then I am exploring the channel in-depth, following the trends, meeting new thought leaders, exploring the organic side of LinkedIn, how to reach your audience in the most genuine and engaging way.

Connecting, commenting, creating content is my 3C's that I believe are important for you to reach your goals on LinkedIn.

Here is an invite from me:?

  • patience
  • consistency

is the true key to building Personal Brand online. So let’s go along together, you - to build your brand, me - to help you.?

I am happy to learn from you, so please let me know what has helped you to open up on LinkedIn and show your true passion for what you do.

Till next week,

Ieva
