Dr. Manish Shrivastava’s mantra for life is "Be kind and in control of yourself!"
As Head of Interventional Neuroradiology at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, Dr. Manish manages a wide variety of neurovascular diseases. Sharing one of his experiences, he talks about a 57-year-old patient who was presented to the emergency room with sudden onset weakness in the right side of the body and an absolute inability to move the right lower limb.
While the MRI Brain Stroke Protocol showed negative diffusion, the MRA Angiogram did not reveal any obvious occlusion, the MRA Perfusion showed increased mean transit time, the RAPID software accurately showed significant diffusion and perfusion mismatch. Consequently, the patient was considered immediately eligible for an IV thrombolysis procedure.
Result? The right upper limb’s weakness returned to normal immediately after the procedure. The strength in the right leg improved to MRC grade 4/5 after 24 hours, and the patient could walk with minimal support.
According to Dr. Manish, we are known to have treated one of the highest numbers of ischemic stroke patients in the country, and the RAPID software has played a crucial role in saving patients' lives.
Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH) is one of the largest in Mumbai and ranks among the?top three among all the private hospitals in India. The center is one of the largest volume centers in the country and performs one of the highest numbers of endovascular Neurointernventional procedures.
