How Rapid Deployment Gully Monitoring Could Pave the Way to Affordable Problem Solving with Drainage Networks

Smart Networks, pollution & flood monitoring and reduction, water & wastewater, rail and highways safety
Simple to deploy, and re-deploy time and time again, the RDNET1000 Gully Monitor allied with its #Iridium satellite gateway offer the Highways Agencies an insight into hot spots liable to #flooding on road networks in both urban and remote areas.
Able to detect high levels and #flooding vs time, this semi-portable system can detect incidents of flooding caused by for example tidal intrusion or overloaded sewers during storm.
Kits are available to cover a single or multiple gullies and thanks to the units unique magnetic mounting bracket installation can be in less than 30-seconds, eliminating the need for a full road closure. Uniquely there is also a drain, culvert or sewer monitoring option too enabling the cause of the flooding to be verified. This can also be extended to monitor actions such as pump running, etc.
The Iridium gateway is battery powered and weighing in at just a couple of Kg and can be strapped on a neighbouring lamp column using highways grade banding straps. By using #iridium there are no need for SIM cards and the associated worries of SIM theft or coverage blackspots which often blight highways monitoring schemes, in particular in remote areas.
