Google’s first page receives 95% of the traffic, followed by 5%, or less, of total traffic on the next pages.
Now the point to think is "How" we can optimize our websites to be on the first page?
Well, in this article I'm going to walk you through the process of getting your websites ranked higher on Google in a systematized fashion.
Let’s jump right in
Everyone is willing to improve their site’s exposure. There are a lot of people looking for alternatives. In reality, SEO is more of a bigger game, and someone, with less exposure to this aspect of the web, has a lot of doubt to admit.
How much time does it take for Google to recognize your website?
There is a particular set of variables in every case. Skill, budget, the competition standard, and how your site frames the contest all can be instrumental in turning the dial as soon as possible.
Just 22% of the pages ranked in the top 10 were under one year old. A page in the top 10 was, on average, over two years old. Also, the total age of the first pages is almost three years.
How to improve Google rankings?
So you see, it takes a lot of effort, talent, and often luck to meet the highest 10 SERPs in less than one year. And this leads us back to modern debate about how Google ranking can be improved.
Here are several activities if you would like to improve your revenues through Google’s first page.
- Cannibalization of keyword fight
Cannibalism by the keyword may occur by optimizing two (or more) keywords for emphasis that are not specific, but nearly identical. It is difficult for Google to determine which articles are the most relevant. As a result, both papers could be rated weak. A part of your cannibalism keyword may resolve your internally linking framework. Think about the article you care about most and link the less relevant long-tail articles to it. Monitoring and fusion of the content is the perfect way to tackle cannibalization issues. Find posts based on search requests close to those.
- Boost your website speed
Site pace is a crucial factor, and it is also an excellent opportunity to develop. To see how your site stands at present, run Google’s PageSpeed Insights app.
Increasing the site speed by one second can boost your user’s experience on your website.
- Improve your local listing
You should make sure your name, address, and telephone number (NAP) are clear on the site, increasing the chances of better results. To decide the status and rank of your organization, Google checks this information.
Do this by hand or using a Moz Local tool. Even a small business name or address variations can lead to SEO problems.
- Make your website Mobile-friendly
Google has created two mobile algorithm updates that support web pages. You can’t get a big SEO win with that approach if your site isn’t mobile-friendly.
- Duplicate content
Google has to select which one is the most appropriate content. If you have several sites that host the same content, creating duplicate content can be bad for SEO.
Fix the issue with a single content review of your website using the web auditing tool of SEMrush. If you’re building a new URL for old content, use tags, such as 301, to correct internal defects and to boost SEO.
- Improve text for internal anchor
To evaluate what the page is about, Google uses anchor text. Consider it essential for your content and support the Google crawlers in the process rather than using abstract anchor text such as “Click Here” for internal linking.
Describe all of your current anchor text and stop explicit keyword filling. You can get into trouble with Google with too many of the same keywords in your anchor file.
- Fix error 404
The last thing that you need is to check for a 404 error page on your link. It irritates users and shows the user interface is incorrect. This will increase the bounce rate.
Try using the Screaming Frog or any other tool to find these 404 errors and fix them.
Conclusion
The skill of getting ranked on Google’s search rankings is mystique specific. But it all boils down to how much authentic and helpful your content is for the viewer.
You will have to spend a lot of time researching, creating content, and fixing your web presence in order to get things straight. And there's absolutely no short-cut!
