6 months to improve my health and fitness by only 14%, which is ONLY half a percent achievement each week. Or is that a big achievement?
If you are trying to become healthier, by reading this will help put your mind at ease and help you look at health and fitness in a different way.
I set out a target to be able to run 10k in 45 minutes in June of 2020. The first timed 10k in June took me 1 hour and 11 minutes.
Today I ran my fastest 10k of the year (55 minutes and 09 seconds). So it has taken me 6 months to improve my run by just 16 minutes.
Now let me put some context behind this. In 2010 I ran 10k whilst in Iraq with the heat hitting over 40 degrees Celsius. Wearing boots, Army trousers (As the Americans say 'pants'), jacket, carrying 35lb rucksack and a 7lb m16 rifle in 55 minutes. The following week I ran a half marathon again in Iraq in 1 hour and 35 minutes.
My fitness levels were through the roof, however since I left the army I spent a lot of my attention on my business and my son and I started to neglect my health and fitness and over the years I began to do less and less exercising and started consuming more and more unhealthy options. Before I knew it, my health and fitness levels completely dropped.
At the beginning of 2019 I got a hold of my health and fitness and push it back in the right direction by constantly creating challenges to help me remain focus. Which would force me to increase my health and fitness levels.
So for someone like myself who has been personally training themselves at a very high level of fitness since 2005 and who has taken on and passed some of the worlds toughest training and who has been educated with the science of how to improve health and fitness and is more than satisfied with a 14% improvement over a 6 months period and you are on a health and fitness journey of yourself, you should really take note.
Because if you are reading this and you have a very poor level of health and fitness and you haven't really done much fitness throughout your life it will most likely take you longer to improve and at a smaller percentage.
Because when you are becoming healthier, it is much more than just numbers on the scales. You have to improve & strengthen your mentality, your discipline, your willpower, your cardio, your strength, your mobility, your range of movement, your motor skills, your power, your flexibility and your nutrition.
By understanding your desire results are not going to happen over night and to settle that you may only see a half a percent improvement each week will be setting you up to win.
Just to note, the reason I have set the challenge that I have, is to help me remain focused and allow me to continually improve my fitness levels each week whilst allowing me to remain focused on my son and business. If I was trying to get my running time down because I was opting in for a race, then I would train harder and make sure I was getting more than .5% improvement each week as it is a different objective.
However if you're trying to lose weight so you can live a happier life and keep the weight off forever then you are not training for a race, you're training for a lifestyle, so take the approach I have explained here and by doing so, it may take longer to see results but it will last forever and each week for the rest of your life you will improve.
Think about that.

Just what I’m making an attempt to point out is that, they spent the better part of a year tweaking and checking the 3 week diet program before they finally made it on the market to the public. in so doing, they made sure that everything was covered understanding that not a thing was overlooked. https://goo.gl/hTwKG2
