How to Provoke the Hand of God for Victories – Part 1

How to Provoke the Hand of God for Victories – Part 1

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” 1 John 5:4 (NKJV)

?

Life is better when lived by faith. Why? Because it takes faith to overcome, and it is our faith that guarantees the victory in our lives. As Believers, we understand that there is not only a need to have faith but also to walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). Once we operate by faith, walking not according to what we see or have heard, victory becomes certain because God’s hand is moved. Be blessed by part 1 of this article on how to provoke the hand of God in our favour to see victories.

?

1.???? Prayer

Instead of waiting for a crisis, Matthew 26 says we should 'watch and pray'. Pray ahead of anything you want to see, and apply your faith as you pray.

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (NKJV)

?

2.???? Love for God

Those who genuinely walk by faith will also have a genuine love for God. In 1 Corinthians 2:9, only those who love God will experience the amazing things He has prepared. Similarly, from Romans 8, we again see that the working together of all things is reserved for a group of people who love God. You cannot walk by faith lovelessly. The overflow of this love enables us also to love others. However, the principle for authentic faith is based on a love for God first.

?

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

?

3.???? Covenant Practices

In walking in faith and provoking the hand of God, we must be determined to stay in God. This looks like abiding by covenant practices: honouring God through the first fruits of our tithes and giving offerings, making sure to gather when the saints are gathered and not exempting ourselves from fellowship, being committed to our Kingdom activities and engaging in communion. These practices are supernatural agreements between us and God.

?

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

?

4.???? Honour

There are always people whom God will give us to honour in life. These can take the form of a mother, father, spouse, spiritual leader or even your boss at work. Honour, particularly to parents or spiritual leaders, especially provokes God so much that God attaches the promise of long life to those who honour their father and mother.

?

“Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12 (NKJV)

?

5.???? Obedience

Obedience to God is not only a demonstration of faith but also moves God's hand. We cannot do it our way and have it God's way. Put another way, we cannot operate in our way, being led by our own devices, and expecting to obtain Godly results.

?

When we think of hearing and obeying the voice of God, we sometimes consider the heavens being opened and a loud and audible voice being heard to direct us. That is not necessarily the case. God speaks through His assigned agents, who He uses to lead us into the next phase. Throughout the Bible, God uses many of His Prophets, such as Moses, to perform this function. In the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy, God spoke directly to Moses about the obedience the Israelites required to achieve victory over their enemies and be “set high above all the nations of the earth”.

?

In our day and age, God continues to speak through the voice of His appointed vessels in the form of Pastors. Be sure not to exclude yourself from being in church. God may have put the key to your victory in the vessel of your Man of God.

?

“But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then?I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” Exodus 23:22

?

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.” Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV)
