Today the world if Wordpress is undergoing a major change, and if you've got a Wordpress website, it's important that you be aware of what's going on and be prepared to ride the inevitable waves that will come with this transition.

What is Wordpress 5.0? Also referred to as Gutenberg, Wordpress 5.0 is a major overhaul of the entire Wordpress editing environment. There is no reason that you have to update as soon as an update is available - even though that update notification might look insistent! And by waiting, you give Wordpress a chance to work out some of the kinks without you having to suffer along with them.

And once January rolls around, before you go ahead with the update, read up online to see what the latest news is about how Gutenberg is affecting sites like yours. If you use a theme, check in with the theme's website or blog, to see how they are responding to the update. That way, you'll know how best to transition smoothly into the new era of Wordpress!
