How not to propose this Valentine's Day

On Valentine’s Day there will be many romantic wedding proposals around the globe. Of course, there are many ways to propose to your loved one... My nephew recently popped the question by placing a fake ring under water while he and his partner were scuba diving. In contrast, my husband, who is a very practical man of few words, simply said, ‘Do you want to get married?’.
Regardless of the method or words used when proposing, using corporate jargon is probably not advisable. In fact, if we used corporate jargon in any situation outside of work we can instantly see it for what it is and laugh at the absurdity of using words that say nothing. Yet in business we continue to accept this way of communication. Perhaps we shouldn’t accept it any longer.
Watch this video of a wedding proposal in corporate jargon and wait for the potential bride’s response. Hopefully it will inspire you to start calling out corporate jargon and introduce Jargon Free Fridays into your work.
Happy Valentine's Day!
