How To Program Your Three Minds To Be Rich Starting Right Now
Clifford Jones
I help mostly introverted, conscious founders and solopreneurs shift from being stuck with brand, story, and content marketing to sustainable revenue growth.
If you read this long article, you may be richer for it. What have you got to lose? Ready? Let’s go!
How rich do you want to be, because I’m about to give you the keys to the kingdom of wealth, happiness and riches? No, this is not about religion. It’s more the science of your brain, and how to program yourself to be rich.
Before we begin, let me explain that everything I’m about to tell you is based on your three minds, because if you’re human, you have three minds. There is plenty of neuroscience supporting these points. Please know I am not a shrink, but simply a layman who learned to program his three minds to be rich.
This is actually quite easy if you give all this a chance. Let’s start by talking about what rich really means. The truth is, you get to choose! For example, ever meet a really rich person who has lots of money, big house, fancy cars, but no lover or friends? Is this person rich or poor? Think about it.
How rich are you if you have buckets of money, and tons of cool stuff, but everyone thinks you’re a dick? That’s not being rich to me. That’s poor.
Being rich is being in love with your best friend to whom you’ve been happily married for over 33 years. Rich is loving your work, being healthy, fit, attractive, and able to sleep well at night. Rich is a feeling, first.
My point is you get to choose how rich you want to be. I choose many things in my life that make me rich, but this does not mean you’ll find my name anywhere even close to Jeff Bezos or Warren Buffet, ever.
Here’s another example to point out the opposite, and what rich really means. Have you ever met a person who came from the most extreme poverty and crime-ridden places, maybe grew up in constant trauma and fear, but somehow they got through all that, own a successful business, fancy cars, big house, private jet, a lover they love and trust, tons of friends, children and grandchildren who love them now that they are “old,” and every holiday their home is full of happy, healthy people who all get along?
That’s rich to me. I can see it now. It’s kind of how my life has been. And I’ve been broke, but never truly poor. I used to get down on myself for “not being good enough” way too often. I was my own worst enemy, and I did things to myself nobody else would think of doing. But through the darkness, I found light. The truth is I have found a way to bounce back from losing all my money, my health, my faith, and nearly my mind, but I never lost my family, which is my greatest wealth of all. I learned how to be truly rich.
Do This To Be Rich
This process I’m about to share with you is simple, not easy. If you can relate to what I’m telling you so far, I already know you can learn this. You’re about to learn something that will become a healthy practice for a lifetime. You are about to learn how to train, program, your own brain. You must believe in your ability to do this, even if you have lingering doubt now.
How do we become who we are? We get programmed from an early age. This is true for all of us, and there is no exception. The primary difference in how we get programmed as humans are the state of our mind, and how relaxed the brain is. We all grow up in certain “conditions.” These conditions condition our way of being human. I was conditioned, programmed, to be Catholic. Not any more. I was programmed to drink buckets of booze for fun, socially, every night. Not any more. I was conditioned to know a fear no human wants to know. Not any more.
I was also conditioned in a mostly positive, loving and supportive way by my amazing parents. But fear lived deep within the two minds that count the most; my unconscious and subconscious minds. For example, I dreamed as a kid of being a professional tennis player. Tennis ruled my life all through my youth up until I gave up the sport due to injuries in my early forties. Tennis was my life for many years, and it taught me the power of conditioning and training the two bigger minds. Timothy Galloway walks you through this in his first book, The Inner Game of Tennis. There are many books on the subject of conditioning, or programming the human minds for happiness, success, and richness.
If I can learn to train my brain in the heat of battle on a tennis court, golf course, or any other stressful place, you can too. You need to learn to calm your mind and relax. When you learn to relax your brain you empower it to do the work it knows how to do, especially when you are asleep. The more relaxed a human brain is, the more active the brain state. This is the exact opposite of what scientists used to describe as a “confound” or what science refers to as “troublesome.”
Now we know the brain is in one of it’s most active states when resting. As reported in this New York Times article, scientists now call this the Random Episodic Silent Thought state, or REST. This is when we can time travel. Think about this for a moment.
When was the last time you lost track of time, and where did you go before you came back to the here, now? This happens when we drive a car, sit in a boring class, or watch a television “program” or movie. We get lost in time.
If you’re with me so far, let me tell you what I conclude about this; daydreaming, visualization, and reprogramming your brain works if you work it. It’s how I quit drinking buckets of beer, wine, and booze every night. It’s how I worked through my addiction to anger and impatience. It’s how I married the woman of my dreams, and grow more in love with her every day. It’s how I learned to be a better father to my sons. It’s how I learned to build my businesses, and bounce back from bankruptcy many years ago.
Believe, Here, Now
If this is true for me, I know this can be true for you. You just have to believe, and the best way to believe is to know the sheer and massive power of the “Biology of your belief,” which is now known as the science of Epigenetics. This is the science of belief. It’s why the Placebo Effect crushes roughly 90% of the drugs coming through the FDA pipeline into your belly. It’s why programming a young boys mind to become a Jesuit priest for life works.
If you want to be rich you have to learn to program your mind. You have to learn to dream better. You have to learn to rest more often, find ways to sleep deeply at night and program yourself for success. The best news of all is you get to make all this up, and achieve what it is you conceive for the life and wealth of your dreams.
Need further proof? Read The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton. Read Suggestable You — The Curious Science of Your Brain’s Ability to Deceive, Transform, and Heal, by Eric Vance.
Or just take my word for it and believe that what I’m about to give you will work if you work it over some period of time. Will this work for everyone? No, it won’t. It’s the same for suggestibility; not everyone is willing to let their brain be programmed consciously. This is why stage hypnotists will tell you that not everyone can be hypnotized. What is being hypnotized? Heck, you can learn to do it to yourself.
Hypnosis is really nothing more than having your brain waves intentionally changed to a more relaxed state of mind such as Alpha or Theta state where the brain waves are calmer than normal. Think about the state of mind when you sleep, or hit vivid dreams you recall when you wake up. When you dream you are letting your brain take you to different places. The magic of the human brain is fascinating to me, and scientists are only beginning to scratch the surface of how it all works. You can daydream, too!
The Power of Your Intention To Be Rich, Now
You have all the power you need to set a bold intention to be and feel richer right now. Just follow these steps.
First, what do you seek more than anything else? You have to choose a goal, and you have to have a deep desire, a “hungry fighter” desire deep inside you, that will compel you to do the work required to achieve your goal. In other words, you have to consciously decide what rich means to you, then what this actually looks and feels like.
If you don’t know what you want, you need to choose. If not, you’ll stay where you are because here’s the deal: when you read these words starting right now, I’m going to shift gears and help you start talking to that part of yourself that may be clueless on why you are here, what your goals should be, what kind of work you seek the most, and what this crazy life thing is all about. I am going to start talking to your subconscious mind because I want to show you how simple it is to talk to yourself. You already do it all the time! Now it’s time to take control of how you talk to yourself, how to be aware of your mind states (brainwave states), and how to relax, and train yourself to program your mind to be rich, starting right here, now.
The next step is to take a few deep breathes right now. Yes, really. Stop reading. Yes, really. Trust me. Put yourself into a different brain state right now. Breathing now deeply.
Do it! See you in five minutes. Commit. It’s five minutes of your life.
Welcome back. How did this feel? Okay, remember that goal or thing you seek to be rich. Got it? Great!
The last step in this simple process will train yours to repeat many times throughout every day; talk to yourself in positive, confirming, acting-as-if-grateful ways all the time.
Once you have your intention and a clear goal in mind, train yourself to be the observer and “talk to yourself” in a positive, loving way. Train yourself to be your best friend! I suggested to a dear friend who is temporarily stuck that she write a letter to herself from the future, and in a very loving, positive, intentional and forgiving way. This helped her immensely, and you can do the same.
Treating yourself with love and respect is a very big deal because if you treat yourself like crap, why should anyone else be different unless you want them to feel sorry for you? Screw that.
Instead, let’s rock this place called your life. Set a vision, and intention based on what you feel the most joy doing in your life. Trust that feeling of joy inside. Joy is one of your guides. You must learn to follow her.
When the negative self-talk creeps in and you hear or feel it, observe it for what it is; your creation. Then cancel that crap out! You do this by talking to “it” and lashing out in a loving way that part of you creating the negative self-talk. Talk it and let the negative energy move on by literally saying, “Hello, fear, anger, pain, etc. Now, I’m busy being rich here. Goodbye.”
You say, “Huh? Become your own observer? What the heck are you talking about this energy stuff? He’s nuts.”
Hey, you are you, right?
You can and will train yourself if you seek to be truly rich, in your way. This begins by being able to detach from what is around you, to go into a more relaxed state of mind, and to visualize and believe that what it is you seek is already happening. You have to “fake it til you make it,” in your three minds! You have to train yourself to get calm, see, feel, and trust what it is you seek is happening right now. You have to act as if. And when you do this long enough with enough conviction and belief, you will achieve the goal or vision you seek.
This Stuff Works When You Work It Long Enough
If you think I’m full of nonsense, that’s okay. I know this is all true because I’ve been reading, learning, and practicing this for years, and it changed my life. The bottom line is this works at different levels at different speeds for everyone. I believe this is a function of your intention, purpose, desire, and commitment to training your brain to make you rich.
100% of being rich is in your mind. Rich people have kids and program to be rich most of the time. The same is true for the poor. Once you become aware of the power to program your own mind to be rich, you will be richer. How rich is up to you.
I feel right now like the richest man in the world, and you will never find me on the cover of Fortune magazine with the big dog billionaires, I don’t believe. I don’t need that in my life because I’m living the life of my dreams right now. When, not if more money, more cash flow, more savings, more investments, more net worth happen, it will be because of my belief in making a difference every day doing the work I do. Everything I feel feels rich. I can even find gratitude in things that go wrong or not my way! Imagine that.
People ask me if there is one thing I suggest they do more than anything else to be rich. It all begins with your willingness to believe! Then, I suggest you learn how to reprogram your thinking through self-hypnosis and visualization techniques. Meditation is also a discipline to train your brain states. These are the top suggestions that have proven to work the best for me. Fitness, diet, no booze, turning off the TV, commercial radio, etc. all made a big difference in how my mind, body, and spirit learned to flow and be richer. Trust me, it wasn’t always this way, and I know for sure there will be more storms in life to endure. But every day, in every way, I am growing richer and richer.
Here’s why most people will think this is total baloney. Most people simply won’t do the work because they will never believe this will work. They decide before they start. Their subconscious mind is holding them back, and they don’t even know it. They have contempt prior to investigation. These are often the same people who will not take your suggestion to read a book, even if you tell them the book changed your life. Move on, folks. You can’t change people, you can only change yourself, and you have to believe this with all your heart, starting now.
The Three Minds of A Human
You have more than one mind. You have three. It’s the same for all humans, although you might not agree if you spend a lot of time in airports.
You have a conscious mind, a subconscious mind, and an unconscious mind. The two latter minds often get used interchangeably, but if you dig deep into the textbooks of the shrinks and hypnotists, you’ll find there are differences. But the big point here is this: your subconscious and unconscious minds are running the show, not your conscious mind.
This means when you’re programming your mind, you’re talking to the parts of you like I am right now. It goes something like this …
“Hey, Subconscious and Unconscious minds in there, yeah, you. I’m calling you out right now because YOUR NAME needs your help to believe what this guy, Cliff is telling us. I’m teaching you right now, YOUR NAME, how to talk to your other two minds. These are the minds that are truly in charge of the big life show. Got it? Good! Now, let’s agree to play well together. All three of you are on the same page because YOUR NAME is getting more clear on the next, big goal! (Yayyyy, feeling excited yet?) Okay, Subconscious and Unconcious, I’m asking for your help starting right NOW. I need you on the same team with YOUR NAME starting right now. YOUR NAME is whole, living in complete integrity, aligned, because we need your help working through the stuff that’s holding YOUR NAME back, and find better ways to train YOUR NAME to be rich. YOUR NAME does believe Cliff when he tells us “we” can program ourselves to work together to be a champsionship team, and to be as rich as we truly want to be. We can do this!”
You have to learn to talk to these parts of yourself because they are real. All of this works for me in big ways.
- My bank account balance is higher than ever before.
- I love my work more than ever.
- My wife and I are having the time of our life.
- Our sons are grown, happy, healthy and wealthy in the same ways I’m teaching you to be rich.
- I have the freedom to do what I want, when I want, no matter what, except if it is not for the common good, because Karma is real, and she can be rough on you if you are rough on her. (Now you know.)
What is true for you when it comes to be rich?
Being rich is a choice, then the three minds do the work. You find the common ground because even your worst habits fostered by your two, higher minds, has good intentions.
Let’s talk about money. Trust me when I tell you if money is your only measure of being rich, you are going to be disappointed. Money is one part of being rich. It’s a by product of the other areas of your life, and it all ties back to how you train your three minds to work together. Money is nothing more than the mere paper it is printed on, and a reflection of the value you bring to the highest good. It’s that simple, and this is a universal freaking law.
You have to reprogram yourself. Now you know you have the power to write your own life plan and script. It all begins with your vision, what you seek, your goals, and then your desire. As life happens, and things change, you learn and adapt as the observer. You learn to drop into more relaxed and meditative states on command. You learn to train your brain no matter where you are.
Let me close by talking to your three minds …
“You are starting right now to feel richer already. Trust me, the subconscious and unconscious minds both know everything I’m telling you is true. But does your conscious mind believe me enough to give yourself a shot at being rich?Only time will tell. And right now you can time travel at your whim. You can breathe deeply ten times, fill your belly like it’s a balloon with fresh oxygen breathing deeply and slowly in and out, and take yourself to your happiest place no matter where your physical body is. Do this breathing often. It is the breath of life! Relax, train your three minds to work together, and you are already richer for it.”
Believe this, see it, feel it, and trust that you are already richer right now. This is how you program your three minds to be rich.
Never stop believing!
ACTION ITEM: Block time and write yourself a letter to your two, higher minds, as I call them. Write the letter as if you are grateful for already being rich, then read this letter to yourself when you first wake up, and when you go to sleep. This is when your highest minds are most alert doing they do best, programming you to be richer, now. Enjoy the journey.
