How to Be Productive With Your Workforce During COVID-19 Quarantine

How to Be Productive With Your Workforce During COVID-19 Quarantine

Cancer affects huge numbers of families each and every year. Healthcare becomes front and center for huge numbers of other families for a multitude of reasons. One thing that all of these families get a crash course in is living life intentionally.

Today, America gets the crash course and for a majority of us, without near the consequences and timeframe of the normal healthcare families battling cancer, heart, liver, kidney, and rare disease among others.

So, how can you use this time away from your employees and keep them inspired and productive without them being present in front of you?!

First, you have some homework to do. We mean, real homework. When you started your company, why did you decide that was the time you needed to start your company? Was it purely for money? Or, was it for an ideal, a mission, a greater sense of purpose than you could find in other companies? If it was for money, it's not too late to find some more meaning and purpose for your company outside of the greenback.

If it was based on a dream, ideal, purpose or greater meaning, now is a GREAT time to circle back on that mission, purpose and meaning! Once you have reconnected with that and become more intentional about your own business...now is as good a time as any to understand what your employees personal missions, purpose and meaning in life looks like? Truly understand it from their perspective...not yours.

Realize that what COVID-19 has done for many is made them question some things. "If COVID-19 were to end my life, would the 30 days prior to the illness be how I would choose to live my last 30 days?" Some variation of that question has certainly crossed some employees minds.

So, you can let their minds wander and see where they end up. Or you can become a real leader to your employees and let them know you're in this with them.

After understanding your company's intentions and your employees intentions, the next step is to identity alignment AND misalignment.

Which employees truly align with your company's mission? Which employees are so far off from your ideals that it may make sense to analyze the future as partners? You don't want to lose some of the greatest assets you have because you failed to be intentional about your employee's life. That would be awful to learn that something completely within your control is the reason an employee leaves or underperforms for your company. It would feel even worse to know that some employees were feeling isolated from your company and left work everyday unfulfilled.

So, during this time of self-quarantine, shelter-in-place, social distancing and remote working, put in the work that you have not made time for over the past year, 5 years, decade or decades!

We're very confident you'll be extremely thrilled. We know your employees will.
